Think dating is broken?

I do.

Two people in a room across of a table drinking coffee asking each other questions. This is the most common first date scenario, it is also how we conduct most job interviews. Isn't time we tried something different?

What makes this worse is the fact that dating involves an element that is way more personal than on a job interview. We don't even refer to it by it's name we instead call it "the white elephant" in the middle of the room that no one seems to want to talk about. Yes I am talking about sex. For some people, I am sure I have lost them by mentioning it.

The psychological definition of a date is "a negotiation for sex." Yet some people have trouble even admitting it is a basic human need. So here we are doing something that is going to lead to another if all goes well and pretending that it's not. Good times. Where are the socially, emotionally, spritually, and intellectually responsible, passionate women out there?

I realize that this continent was "founded" by people who called themselves "Puritans" who thought Europeans were a bunch of pervs and we live in a place where showing people graphically killed is more acceptable than a breast on television. I also realize that most people will read my profile and think I am just someone clever looking for a quick f*ck. Judge as you may, but if something is broken you have to try things differently.

They say the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. So I guess I am here trying something different in online dating and hoping I meet someone who wants to go through this process differently than most people. I want to meet someone who wants to have a different kind of date, so we can have a different kind of result. You have to take risks in order to gain the greatest rewards. So I guess this is my attempt to take a risk and to try something different.

On a first date I would like to do something most people wouldn't think of doing. Since we are meeting online, this is something we could discuss and figure out for ourselves.
