I can't help it I have to be a bit different. So...let's try a list of adjectives and I'll answer questions looking for more details. Low maintenance, (yes these are for me - not you :)) casual, easy going, dependable, unique, serious, pleasant, wry, outgoing, introverted, relaxing, practical, socially adept, good listener, and supportive. I enjoy taking each day as it comes. I harbor no great goals at this point in my life and I am happy to be at peace and to bring joy to those around me. I don't watch much TV but when I do it tends to be sports or History channel. I like an eclectic mix of music from oldies, rock, country or smooth jazz. My hobbies tend toward home improvement type projects and auto repair.

Are we talking about a first date as in first meeting or first actual date? Sometimes it just seems more appropriate to plan a somewhat brief encounter for lunch or coffee and see if there is some chemistry in person. Is that a real first date? You decide. If that is what we are talking about I feel it has the advantages of being low key and is less likely to become awkward. I have had this type of meeting turn into a full date and it is very comfortable. On the other hand if it doesn't feel right it seems easier to move on. I suppose this is my preferred first date.
A first date that is fully planned out I would usually consider a second date. I always expect this to include dinner and at least one significant activity. No Duh - right. I state it this way because I don't have a huge preference regarding the activity or the meal. At this point I would like to feel that we know enough about each other to find an activity and diner that we will both enjoy. This is probably not the night to experiment with those two items - we should be the experiment. If you are looking for someone to make the decisions for you it's not me. I want to know what you like and I want to know that we are doing something that you will enjoy. Of course there are some activities that I am not interested in. But I am much more interested in your company than in where we eat or where we spend the time.
