I've been divorced for eight years and I really should be writing a thank you note to the woman he cheated on me with. I'm starting to think about what my next adventure might be, now that my youngest kids are beginning to make their own ways into the world.

I'm a long distance runner and I run not to stay fit, though that's a pleasant result, but to stay sane. Running smooths my edges. I've challenged myself to run a half marathon a month this year, and I'm not absolutely confident I'll make it. But that's what a challenge is -- taking on something with an outcome you're not sure of achieving. (Hmm, sounds like our time here in the pond.)

I have the good fortune to work for a software company in downtown Vancouver, which allows me to work from home, as well as travel into the city. I've got the best of both worlds.

I like people who are intelligent without being snobby, who are positive while being realistic, and who are experienced (though not necessarily comfortable) with teeter-tottering between strength and vulnerability.

I'm not looking for love, but I sure do hope that love finds me. In the meantime, I'd enjoy meeting a kind and friendly man who is an excellent communicator and knows how to give when he takes.

A few things I believe:
- Banjo music always sounds happy.

- Green makes things colourful.
- Sunshine tastes like olives.
