Seriously though, I'd really like to find just one special lady to share the rest of this life with. My daughter is grown and has her own family now, so I get to play grandfather when I visit. That leaves a lot of 'me' time.

I'm pretty basic. What you see really is what you get - I can (and do) enjoy being home more than going out. I don't (actually, it's can't) dance; can't swim; I burn instead of tan; don't ride motorcycles after almost killing myself on one; and, in general, avoid sports altogether. I'm probably one of the few guys here that run a 'sports-free' house. I never understood why I should chase some odd-shaped ball that ten or so other people don't want me to have.

When I go out, I'm flexible, but I dislike feeling later that I've been ripped off (e.g., some movies or restaurants). I don't need 'outside entertainment' as a displacement activity. There ARE times, tho', that I go out, and, at those times, I like to have the lady in my life with me 'cuz I enjoy her company and love holding her hand. I'm silly like that ...

Cooking is second nature for me. I'm no chef, but I'm pretty good. Most of my dishes use chicken or pork since they're 'healthy'. I've pretty much given up red meat, and fish/seafood are digested too quickly, which means I'm hungry again in a half-hour. I don't bake, 'cuz I've made many a wonderfully-browned brick trying to bake, so I stick to cooking. Cooking is seasoning; baking is chemistry.

All that having been said, I'd like to make your acquaintance if you'd like to explore where things may lead. We've probably both been around long enough to know after a first meeting if it's something we'd like to investigate further. If it is, well, that's good; and, if not, well, that's good too ... we'll have found out first-hand. We may decide to just remain friends - and that's good, too. We'll never know unless and until we meet, tho' ...

As a separate subject, if you're married or separated - but not divorced - please, just keep looking. I will not be named as a 'co-respondent' later in your messy legal battle. As for marriage, I've been divorced for 23 years, and have no intention of re-marrying. If you haven't posted a recent photo in your profile, please contact me once you have. You can see what I look like - I want the same courtesy. If you enjoy 'recreational drugs', smoke, or like to drink on a daily basis, again, please don't respond. Lastly, if you think Obama is the best thing since sliced bread, please share that joy with others who think the same way - I'm not one who accepts that premise.

As for the distance I'll travel, 20 to 25 miles is about tops. I'd have put that there, but the software only gives us limited options. Sorry for any misunderstanding that may cause ...

First date? Well, conventional wisdom says we should never watch someone eat - does that mean dinner or lunch is ruled out? Not in my world. I have good table manners and know which fork to use. I prefer simple to fancy, reasonable to expensive, and good to 'not good'. That applies to everything - it's not limited to just a dining experience. I guess taking a shower together is a 'second date' kind of thing, right ... ?
