i was raised with manners and morals and was taught to be respectful of people. for some reason i seem to attract the opposite of those things. :/


i'm melissa. i'm not perfect, but i'm fun. i'm not as wild as i used to be but i still have my moments.nights spent with friends and good conversations are the best. art, music and intelligence fascinate me. my family centers me.i'm a giant dork. i'm too nice. i forgive, but never,never forget. i'm a contradiction sometimes. i have strong opinions, but am willing to listen and be educated. if you can change my view on something, i'm impressed. want to know more? ask.

i guess i should put a little about what i look for in a guy. a good sense of humor and the absurd(i have a quirky sense of humor and am easily amused at times.),honesty(i hate liars),a good sense of family and responsibility and manners. also, someone who is smart,well read,passionate(everyone needs a passion),thoughtful and kind. now, i know the chances of finding all of these in one man are slim. but some of those things are negotioable and some are not. i expect you to be smart enough to figure out which ones are the deal breakers. also,i can be a VERY sarcastic person. some people like it, others hate it. you have to make that choice for yourself, lol. ;)


things that i dig:live music,reading,white wine,road trips to nowhere,HONESTY and LOYALTY(lie to me and i find out, you get the boot. i don't tolerate dishonesty),tasteful tats,the beach,the river,dancing,drinking,acting like a total fool,thunderstorms,chill nights at the house,crazy nights out with my girls,wrestling(as in tackling people when they least expect it, not the redneck soap operas you see on t.v.)art,sex,food,laying in the sun,watching stars,campouts,bonfires,jumping off of cliffs and bridges into large bodies of water,webcomics,my comfy hammock,lonestar beer(be jealous you pbr drinkers.)the pictograms on the underside of lonestar caps,hot summer days,sixth street in austin,raves,small towns where EVERYONE knows you,driving with the windows open and the radio blasting,motorcycles,fantasy movies(labrynth ftw!)ghost hunting, the paranormal,people in glasses,smart people,the sound and smell of the ocean,random phone calls for no reason at all,hours long conversations at ihop in the middle of the night,clean sheets,the smell of freshly mown grass,barbecues with the family,DIMPLES!.....this could go on for days.

things that suck: liars. cheaters. players. deceivers. cheap people. homophobes. houston traffic. being a longhorn in aggieland. bad coffee. rude people. ignorance. the fact that the movie is NEVER as good as the book was. arrogance. wastefullness. shallow people.people who talk to my chest.frat boys(even though they pay my bills). plastic people. sheeple, in general. the fact that i live over a hundred miles or more from most of the people i love. cold weather. lots of other things, but you get the idea.

i like non-traditional first dates. dinner and a movie are okay, but boring. doing something like going skating or going and hearing some live music would be typical for me. or anything as simple as getting some coffee and taking a walk. i'm pretty open to ideas.
