Honestly, I am an odd individual.

I work in an industry that keeps me frequently frustrated and I have to work during my off time to keep myself happy. My heart is in the hills somewhere but circumstances are that I am going to be doing what I do for a while now. I keep thinking of how I might change my circumstances to explore this world some more.

As to hobbies, I am quite heavily involved in Western Martial Arts (WMA), which I have been doing for over two years now. WMA in a nutshell is the study of western fighting techniques, in my case from the early 19th century and early. Yes, that means I study sword-fighting. Don't be a terribly squeamish person and it would help if you don't mind looking at bruises. I am looking to expand beyond my WMA and get back into rock climbing, which I had to stop due to an injury (completely not WMA related). I enjoy going to the gym to a point, but would rather be doing something that tests my skill, not just how much weight I can lift.

I also love to flake out in front of a movie or old TV series. I don't go out to movies much and don't own a TV so I am pretty inept when it comes to popular culture.

I am by nature pretty intense, and that goes for both the highs and the lows; when I am passionate about something, it is pretty obvious. I have been told that I am a "nice guy" but really I put out to others what I would like to receive back and feel that that is anything anyone can do but many simply don't.

I love to grow things and in the summer I can often be found out on my balcony gardening. Environmental causes are close to my heart but I tend to do what I can do and influence those close to me rather than being involved in "causes". Every day is a cause to me.

My musical tastes are vast and voracious... I will hunt down old favourites that flash into my head. Popular music these days doesn't often impress me.
