My name is Dan, in case you couldn't tell from my screen name. My friends would say that I'm pretty intelligent. I can be very funny once I get to know a person. My sense of humor could be described as somewhat unique, so not everyone gets my humor. If you do "get" my sense of humor though, I can be a lot of fun, and can probably keep you interested.

I still believe in fate, and that we will meet who we are meant to meet when the time is right, if we are meant to meet anyone at all. I figured that I really didn't have anything to lose by trying POF. I think that I possess a certain amount of wisdom. I'm not implying that I "know everything" or that I am smarter than anyone else, but I'm fairly confident in what I know and what I have learned. Part of that is knowing that I really don't know that much compared to what there is left to learn.

I don't expect or have any desire for a potential mate to agree with my opinions. All I ask is that you be willing to listen to what I have to say, and be open minded. If we meet you will find that I do have a lot to say if I'm asked to offer my opinion. Even further than that though, I am a good listener. I am a human, and physical attraction obviously has its place. However, if I come to appreciate a womans mind and thoughts, in additon to her physical attributes, it increases my attraction to her immeasurably.

I play the drums, and I love all kinds of music. Heavy metal, jazz, blues, classical, Motown, pretty much anything. My musical preference is not exclusive to any one "genre." I like to read, but a book has to grab my attention relatively early in the reading. If not I will lose interest. History is my favorite subject to read about. I like sports. Baseball in particular. I'm not obsessed with sports, but they are one of my interests.

Well that is me in a "nutshell," so to speak. As I've said, I figured that I didn't have anything to lose by participating here, and concurrently I don't have any real expectations of it either. I don't have expectations of people in any real sense. I'm interested only in what another person may have to offer on an intellectual, spiritual, physical, and emotional level. I make my best effort to avoid expectations and labels. I really don't feel the need to categorize. I believe in unconditional giving.

Seriously, show more than one picture if you're going to write me. Clear pictures. Honest pictures. Why do some of the women on here post the same picture seven times? Please don't misrepresent yourself.


I think that internet meeting/date sites are a double edged blade. They're cool in the sense that you may meet a person that you wouldn't have ordinarily. On the other hand, and I know a few people who are like this, I think that some people use sites such as this as a substitute for real, natural, face to face interaction. As I see it, life is meant to be lived in "real life," not over a computer screen or in some kind of cyber virtual science fiction horror movie. Have we become so afraid of each other that we can't even bear to speak to one another face to face? Anyway, I'll elaborate further on our first date.


With all of that being said, I'm not on here for a virtual relationship. A few emails, then a phone call, and then meeting relatively quickly is how I would prefer to approach things. Everything within reason of course. Just a drink or eight, and see if there is a reason to pursue things further.
