Hey, my name is James. I've lived in New York for a few years now, and really like the city. I'm currently studying to be a maritime officer on commercial ships. I enjoy being on the water, and want to sail, though not necessarily as a career. I've gotten to travel all over the world with my education, and would like to travel a lot in the future, though New York is a pretty cool place to live.

I like going to baseball games and boxing matches. I read a lot, and really like Steinbeck and Hemingway. My favorite side job so far has been working as an EMT, and I truly consider myself lucky to have been given the chance to help others that way. As for music, I listen to just about anything, except for like smooth jazz. I really like the Killers, Boston, Green Day, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fall Out Boy, Johnny Cash, and Jimmy Buffett.

I think I'm a pretty open-minded person, and I like to laugh, meet new people, and go to parties (but then again, what person doesn't like parties or laughing?). I hope to meet someone who's honest, loyal, and has an independent mind. Beyond that, I'm open to meeting just about anyone.

I want to get to know the other person, but still have fun, so I'm not real big on going to a movie as a first date, at least not just a movie. Otherwise, I'm up for anything; dinner and a game, coffee and a museum, or drinks and dancing. Nothing too serious at first, just something that's relaxing and fun.
