About Me
First of all, I must tell you that the wrong age appears on my profile.POF won't allow you to change your age on your profile! I am really 60 yrs old, but I believe that Love prefers twilight to daylight...so read on if you care...
Do you consider yourself a "starting over" person? I'd say that's a pretty apt description of me, and I really am uncomfortable with the self-promotion necessitated by this forum, but am compelled to participate in order to hopefully meet someone with whom I can share my interests. I'll tell you my starting over story if you tell me yours... Physical fitness is one of my passions. Last summer, I competed in my first sprint triathlon and came in first place in my age group. Of course, they say I cheated because I kicked the crutches out from under my nearest competitor and tipped the wheelchair of the next guy near the finish line, but what do they know?
Do you like to camp or hike? My favorite place for those activities in Michigan is the Leelenau Penninsula. I love hiking the dunes then swimming in Lake Michigan.
If my profile interests you at all, feel free to contact me.Conseiller is French for Counselor, which is my profession. I love my job and have devoted my professional life to working with adolescents. It is very rewarding and self-fulfilling career.
At any rate, I'd love to hear from you soon if my profile is of interest...
Warm Regards, JC
First Date
I pick you up around noon on a breath-takingly gorgeous blue skied summer day and we put your bicycle in the back of my Van and head to one of the many paved bike paths we are blessed with in SouthEast Michigan. Next to me in a spacious cooler is some delicious red wine, bread, cheese and other fixings for a sumptious repast.
We arrive at the trail head, unload our bikes and hit the trail. Taking our time, we meander down the pathway and absorb the beautiful greenery, the birds, the small lakes on the side of the pathway and the pleasant conversation we have begun. Getting to know each other and to explore our thoughts, wishes and aspirations is just as much fun as exploring the beautiful scenery surrounding us on the trail.
After about an hour of riding, we loop back to the Van and get out the picnic supplies. There is a hiking trailhead near the bike path and it leads us to a glade on the edge of a sprawling mirror-like lake. Together, we create a sumptious lunch and we sit cross-legged on the blanket, famished, and begin to eat.
When we are finished eating, we pour another glass of wine and continue the conversation about each other's dreams and loves. We discover that we have so much in common...reading, camping, traveling, theater, movies, our careers...that we are both smiling inwardly and outwardly. Tentativley, we make plans to perhaps meet again and pursue some of our shared interests.
When we are finished eating, we grab our towels and slowly immerse ourselves in the crystal clear water of the nearby lake. We languidly swim around the perimeter and absorb the rays of the afternoon sun. Fish break the still surface all around us and we can hear the laughter of children in the distance. We both dunk our heads under the water and swim blindly beneath the surface, finally bumping in to each other and sharing a brief first kiss....
Back on the beach, we lay on our towels on our stomachs, close but not touching, pleasantly gazing in to each others eyes and feeling the warm rays of the sun soothing and heating up our freshly bathed bodies. After awhile, we doze for about 15 minutes and awaken refreshed and ready to go on to the next phase of our date...dinner at one of the many fine restaurants in Ann Arbor and a foreign film at the State Theater.
For a description of the remainder of our first date, you will have to write back. Interested?
