About Me
I'm not looking for a guy to sweep me off my feet. I've been there and done that, and Prince Charming turned out to be nothing more than a toad. What I'm looking for is someone new to hang out with, someone new to introduce into my (so far limited) circle of friends here in Kelowna, someone new to blaze with or drink with. I've lived here since June '08 but still don't have a very big circle of friends; I want to expand on those horizons.
I'm not looking for anything romantic like dating or long term relationships, I am looking for friendship only right now. Does that mean that if you like me that you're gonna stay in the euniched "Friend Zone" forever--no. Again, looking for friendship only, but I am open to other things if the opportunity presents itself in the right way.
If I don't send a first response, message me!!! I don't bite, and usually if I don't send the first message it's because I'm trying to think of something to say and am at a loss for words and don't want to sound cliche or whatever.
Hobbies/Interests Still learning Japanese, and have also started to tack on Mandarin. I'm into Asian culture, I think it's fascinating and beautiful, and also think that these languages will be helpful as a lot of people who live in Canada did not originally come from here, and a lot of them have immigrated from Japan/China. That is part of the reason. Another part of the reason is that I am very interested in Japanese culture: anime, manga, cuisine. I am actually in the process of learning manga styled drawing. I am into computers and technology, and am hoping once I save enough money to start taking courses to get certificates to become a computer technition. In other words: I'm geeky as hell and want to work with computers (fixing and building mostly) as a career. Now, this doesn't mean that you have to be as geeky as me, it doesn't mean you have to speak 1337 or know a lot of computer terms. I do have the tendancy to mumble under my breath about different things regarding computers (like, for instance, did you know that my computer was built by my best friend and that it is so old that the motherboard is SocketA and I'm running an IDE harddrive?) if they don't work properly, but I am in no way computer savvy enough to know (yet) how to fix a computer without going "Hrm...maybe I should call someone else in in case I screw up and things explode". I'm interested in digital media as art, mainly in the areas of fractal art and photo manipulations (I do have a DeviantArt account that I will give you the web address for if you ask nicely in a message) but I am also interested in traditional media art like pencil drawings. I have worked with pastels and charcoals (both far too messy for my tastes) and painting, but I really like working with pencil. As mentioned before, I am starting to get into a more manga-style of art, and it's pretty evident in some of my art. I also like to write my own stories.
Although I know it sounds cliche, I do listen to almost everything, and my iPod is actually proof of that statement. I have everything from Evanescance to Eminem, At The Drive-In to I.C.P., Pendulum to Fall Out Boy. I am open to listen to whatever, and a lot of the music that I have on my iPod has come from friends saying "Hey, have you heard of this band? or this song?" and me just torrenting the entire discography or album. So if we do hang out and you don't like what's on my iPod, suggest something you like, and I'm pretty sure that I'll end up liking it too.
First Date
I'm not overly hard to impress. I'm down for going for a coffee and talking so we can get to know each other a little more personally, I'm also cool with hanging out at a pub/bar and having a drink. I love the beaches around Kelowna and would love to go to the beach and walk around, talking. Like I said: I'm not hard to impress.
