I recently turned 41 yr old, SWM, moved to Portland from Seattle in late 2000. College educated employed professional but not meeting the right kind of people so I figured I would give this a try.

HUMOROUS
I love to laugh and find humor in almost anything including places I should'nt. I try to lead with humor as well as, connecting on the intellectual side in my search for new friendships. If we are laughing at similar things that is a great platform to begin a friendship.

GENUINE NICE GUY
Being single in Portland it would be nice to meet someone to explore and seek out some culture exposure. The kind things and places you don't take the guys along with.....concerts, play's, nice dinners, etc. I am pretty new to this type of meeting people; I can get the notarized note from mom only upon request. As well as, the FBI background check, DNA and blood samples, all testifying that I am a nice guy. I hope you have a sense of humor? All baggage fits nicely into one small carry on size piece of luggage.

STRANGE MEDIUM FOR DATING
This whole thing takes some getting used to with regards to emailing questions and one liners back and forth. It can seem a lot more like an interrogation that getting to know someone. Who knows if this is the best way to decide if you want to meet someone? What part of the profile is important you? What makes you want to hit the reply button (Especially when it involves matters of the heart)?

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR
Qualities I admire and find attractive include; Seeing a person in various different environments - like one on one, around her friends, around my friends, around her co-workers, around my co-workers, around her family, and around my family, all go along way to getting to know someone. I much prefer making history and less on writing or reading about it in an email - lets go do stuff together and see what happens. Some of the profile clichs are in play here. I do love a good sense of humor - not just laughing at my jokes but actually making other people laugh (Now that is attractive), nice eyes, nice smile, smells good. Has a nice combination of academic and street smarts. A person who has dealt with adversity in a positive way. If you break out in to a profanity laced tirade complete with facial tick at the mention of your Ex then you’re probably not for me.

Other traits I admire include; a passion for life, job, family, and personal growth. I am very affectionate and sensual - no that is not code for "let’s hook it up". Sports is a big part of my life - but I also enjoy art, theater, drama and dance and would consider myself a very open minded person in the area of trying new things.
