About Me
Sorry for the novel, but this should give you a decent sense of what kind of person I am:
FIRST OF ALL: I have one cardinal rule, Please be honest with me. I am very big on communication, trust, and honesty. You cannot communicate properly unless you get the truth, be honest with me and I will be honest with you. For example, I am not Brad Pitt, I know this, I am a stocky guy.
As long as we are on the honesty thing, while I do not smoke, I do enjoy the occassional cigar, if that bothers you, I will not do it around you end of story, just let me know.
I don't take myself too seriously, I am currently a second year in law school but I still prefer to act like an idiot and laugh all day long. I went to UCLA undergrad and in a lot of ways I still like to behave like a college student in that I like to be a total goofball and I like playing small pranks [nothing dangerous or destructive, more mischief if you will]. As I said above, I love laughing, and have a very diverse sense of humor in that I can be sarcastic one second, turn a phrase the next, and then do something completely goofy to cap it all off. Bottom line, if you enjoy laughing, I will probably like you.
I am Italian/Peruvian [translation, I am hispanic but look completely white], that lived in Lima, Peru for 9 years so I speak English and Spanish fluently. I am very close to my family and am incredibly loyal to my friends. I eventually want to get my Masters of Tax Law/MBA and go in to Business Management. I am spiritual but not religious [if that makes any sense], I like to think that there is a higher cause to dedicate our lives to, but I will be d*mned if I will allow others to dictate to me what that cause is or how I should live. I played water polo and swam in high school.
I am equally at home talking smack as debating the major issues of the day. I enjoy staying home watching endless DVD's or going out to the dance clubs and tearin' it up. I have bungee jumped off bridges but I am scared of heights, I am a total homebody that loves to go hiking and hit the raves [not a total raver, but I go to 2 or 3 a year], the point being that I am open to every new experience and will never judge something I have never tried.
In terms of music, I like everything. Even country [although not a ton of it]. Sublime, Metallica, Snoop Dogg, AC/DC, Marley are just some of the bands I totally dig listening too. I think that is what makes me who I am, I am completely willing to give something an honest chance before I say "I don't like it". People who judge without ever trying/learning about something are ignorant and are my biggest pet peeve in the world. FYI - I am pretty big on logic.
I have no idea what I am looking for in terms of a gf, I don't like to say I have a certain type, I suppose I am looking for good people to be around and see what happens, besides, if you want to be in a good relationship, isn't being friends kind of a prerequisite? I don't like expectations when it comes to meeting new people as it creates pressure and who wants extra pressure when meeting someone new, it is tough enough as it is. I guess you could say I am ready and willing to commit myself to the right woman but until she appears in my life, I am ready to have fun, and meet new people. Romantically, I believe chivalry is not dead, I believe that women are due a higher standard of COURTESY than men simply because that is how I was brought up. This does not mean I think women are inferior or lesser than men I just think there are certain things that you can do around your boys than when you have girls around. I can be a total sap, when I meet the right person, I enjoy giving flowers, the long beach walks, and picnics.
Ladies, if you need constant reassurance from me on how good you look or how wonderful you are, we probably should not hang out. I am big on confidence which is not to say that I won't compliment you, but if you NEED me to say something every 3 seconds, that is a little needy for me. I want friends that can challenge me to become better every single day, people that won't mind calling me up to go to the gym or go to a club at the spur of the moment, some of my greatest adventures have come off of random nights were there where no plans in place and magic just happened.
Bottom line, do you enjoy having fun? Do you like to laugh, go out with good people and make memories? If so, I will most likely enjoy hanging out and let's see what happens. Worst case, we both have a story to tell and isn't that what life really is? A series of stories interwoven in to our being that make us who we are.

First Date
First date, and by date I mean, first time we meet, no romantic expectations, let's keep it simple, go for a coffee or a drink, shoot some pool, maybe bowl a frame or two, or go mini golfing and let's talk, get to know each other. I like to take walks so depending on what you like to do we can grab some ice cream and just walk around for a while, shooting the proverbial sh*t and swap embarrassing stories [I guarantee you I have WAY more than you]. I would say lets get in the car and take a drive, listen to some tunes, but I think that might be more of a second date thing. I definitely do not dig on a long sit down dinner/movie plan for a first date because if you are not clicking with the person, who wants to be stuck for 4 hours? Better to give each other an out, and leave things on a positive note.
For a second date, I definitely think dinner and salsa dancing/dance club would be in order. Or we could stay in and cook together.
