I am an avid private pilot, who likes both hiking in and flying over mountains, scuba diving, sailing, skiing, singing, reading, travel (of course), Bible study, and writing; who loves animals (especially parrots and dogs), enjoys building things, works regularly at staying healthy and active, and has even jumped out of a few airplanes. Collecting new skills is as much of a hobby as it is a passion.

I'm also an engineer (electronics) by profession, but did a live national radio talk show* for a few years in my spare time (and still do occasional guest hosting) -- which essentially a combination of stand up comedy and teaching. Writing, speaking, and teaching is still a lot of fun, and to do it well requires a good sense of humor.

Also, I have a number of books to write. At least one of those will describe my own journey -- which is still in progress.

Finally, what I've seen here over time inspired me to add a few mods to my own profile:

I'm not looking for "long term", a "hookup", or even mere "chemistry" that many folks on here seem to think is the goal -- I'm seeking a helpmeet. That means a woman who "knows the season", and loves YHVH and His Word more than she does the world. Please keep reading if you know what that means, or would like to.

The current economic meltdown, and coming dollar collapse and Really Great Depression, has been obvious for literally years to those of us who know that "change" means more than printing fiat money for bailouts. And we "ain't seen nuthin' yet"! Remember when a "billion" was considered "real money"?

"Who" and "when" matter far more than "what" and "where". I'm flexible, but happy to offer specific suggestions.


I'd rather use this space to clarify some things that the 'profile' choices obscure, however. For example, I don't "drink socially", but I do occasionally enjoy a glass of wine. I am not a "smoker" today, or even yesterday, but have never smoked. ;)

Check boxes in general don't suit me. That "Christian - other" choice doesn't work at all, since I believe He Wrote His Word down for us for a reason. And our Savior called those men who twisted what He taught, "Hypocrites!" -- a word that still applies today.

Lastly, I am neither "married", nor "divorced", nor "living together" - nor any of those other choices in the box; the box above is arguably conjecture, I am sorry to concede.

"Marriages" fail because most people in this country have no idea what the word "Covenant" really means, much less why it is important. "Chemistry" without Covenant is a lie, a ring is no substitute for integrity to our word, and a"license from Caesar" nothing more than "friendship with the world" instead of commitment before Him.

Some have wondered about that comment, beyond the fact that the divorce rate reflects a disconnect between what most churches teach and what the Bible really says. (Nor does that mean that all of us who survived puberty have not made mistakes -- just that there are lessons to be learned from them.)

So, "What do I mean?" I know how difficult it is to convince someone who believes she is "damaged goods" of the truth, and those who don't believe in Him are never likely to trust any mortal man, either. And I know that it a different thing to be in Covenant than "under bondage". I am looking for a woman who genuinely understands what is most important in life. When I commit to "love always", that means so long as I draw breath. But my word matters far less than His.

And I know something that 'the world' considers VERY un-PC, but it is True anyway:
God ultimately holds the husband responsible for every failure in a marriage. That is a lesson I learned years ago, and will never forget (it's in Numbers, chapter 30.)
