Born and raised in Kansas, went to the same school for 12 years with 20 people in my grade. Deciding I had had enough of the midwest, I went to college in Washington where I got my BS in physics. Now I'm at UC Davis where I got my MS and am now working on my PhD in physics (specifically astrophysics type stuff).

I'm a pretty diverse person, and my life so far has been very random and adventurous. Whether it's hanging out with Nobel prize winners in Marseille, seeing Lance come into Paris for his final Tour win, doing a 500 mile off road race, setting tile for a movie producer in Bel Air, getting passport and wallet stolen in Chile, etc... that's just how I like it (except the pickpocket part).

My favorite food is sushi. If I was at home eating a plate of sushi, and there was a fire, the first thing I'd think to save is that plate of sushi... and now I'm thinking a romantic candlelit dinner with sushi would be a bad idea.

I like movies where it's obvious the people that made it were making something they were passionate about, not something that was going to get money. I was going to say my favorite movie was Amélie, but a lot of people say that so I feel like a cliché (I'm having fun using the é). Another favorité is Amadéus.
