I have seperated from my husband and will soon be divorced, so this is quite new! I am a mom with 2 kids left at home and work in the nursing field. Living on a farm, I like the quiet and open spaces but occasionally enjoy going to the city. Most outdoor activities are great but do enjoy evenings at home playing cards with friends, watching a good movie or just hanging out. I enjoy the "down home" lost arts such as spinning, knitting, gardening, canning the summer produce so many of my friends tease me that I am living in the past. I read constantly, mostly history and biographies; no sappy love stories! I am an eternal optomist and while there are times when a person needs to be serious, I refuse to take life too seriously. I figure life is too short, so I will have as much fun as I can while I am here, hence my warped sense of humor. My children are my life and while I am not looking for a husband or a father figure for my kids, I do expect that they get along. Having just got out of a bad marriage, I do not want a serious relationship right away. Successful relationships start out as very good friends and develop to something deeper. I like all kinds of music except country, love hockey and realize that chocolate is the only food that counts. I am not high maintenance, just know that life revolves around the old saying, treat others as you would want to be treated.

My first date would be possibly dinner and a good movie, putt putt golf, fishing, a good amusement park. Second hand stores and antiques shops are fun. Art museums, botanical gardens and the zoo are good. But the perfect winter date - dinner and tickets for a Blues hockey game! As you can see, I am not picky. Lots of talking and getting to know one another. The most inportant quality is that my date must be able to make me laugh. What happens after that is up for grabs.
