I always show up and would never stand you up! First date should always be short and sweet, after all if there's no sparks why make a whole night of it, you may have just made a new friend instead of a love connection and hey you can never have to many friends. I say meet for a drink, or coffee or even lunch, then take it from there...
Doing something really fun together can lead to a real conversation. It can help me learn more about you. A first or second date should not be a job interview but always is.
