My quote above? You can't meet somebody interesting if you don't at least try to do something about it. So here I am. I also remember a quote by Ovid that's appropriate for this site: "Keep your line always cast, in the pool you least expect it, there will be a fish."

I always find talking about yourself one of the hardest things to do but here goes. I am interested in a lot of cultural pastimes and generally in the arts (music, film, fine arts, theatre, graphic novels, etc). I think of myself as a kind person, patient and I'm willing to try anything and be a bit spontaneous. I enjoy having a good time either with interesting people or independently as well. I like spending time with people who inspire me to discuss different things and fire my imagination. I appreciate honesty and integrity above all and I admire people who stick to their word. It speaks highly of their character and their commitment. I like to get outdoors now and then but also enjoying watching an engrossing film on a rainy day with someone who shares that passion. I enjoy just simply "being" with someone who can throw me the odd smile, who has a certain energy and affection. As far as sports go I tend to be a bit more of a spectator even though I do get to the gym regularly. I am a huge fan of British soccer and not a Saturday goes by that you won't find me trying to check out an Ars_enal game on tv (sorry I had to edit that because it has the word a-r-s-e in it). I appreciate my family and friends and would do anything for them easily. I love hiking in the woods or simply strolling in a park. I also enjoy the odd weekend camping trip too. I am a huge fan of music both to listen to and to play (better at the listening than the playing though, ha ha). Some of my other interests are reading, photography, writing, seeing bands live and the odd travelling. I am also interested in checking out meditation, tai chi, cooking classes, maybe learning Mandarin, Japanese and perhaps Spanish someday. With a background in art I am also eager to get back to drawing and painting again and even toying with a foray into graphic novels someday too.

I have degrees in fine art and radio and have been a graphic designer, a dj and a radio producer and want to one day find a way to combine all of those somehow. I also tend to be a hard worker and take great pride in what I do and try to do my best.

My choices in music are varied and can rate kind of like this any given day: Spoon, Cat Power, Boards of Canada, Grizzly Bear, Deerhunter, Yo La Tengo, Death Cab For Cutie, old Delta blues, 70s classic rock, jazz from the 50s, electronic/ambient music, classical and many others. If it's great music it doesn't matter what genre it fits into really. I have huge respect for great songwriters specifically. Music is woven into the fabric of most of my days.

I would say that having a cozy chat in a quaint cafe over a coffee, maybe on a lazy Sunday afternoon at the end of a nice walk, would be a really great first date for me.
