It's amazing how many women on this site have been totally jerked-around in their lives. That's unfortunate because I am not a jerker-arounder, but because so many women have been jerked around they either do not respond to emails, treat me with suspicion, or do not follow through.

And why is it so impossible to get a coffee date? Seriously?!!?!

It's time to update this profile. Let's see. I finished grad school back on May 21, 2009, and now I have my life back. I guess that is old news at this point. So I will just start with the basics. I am looking for someone who is normal and well-adjusted. I am looking for someone who is thoughtful, independent but loyal, artistic and deep. If you are the person I am looking for, you know exactly what I mean.

I don't have any BS and I am straight-up. What you see is what you get. I'm pretty much a brainiac: some people like that, some don't. I'm musical and artistic. I play several musical instruments, I paint, I like to do photography, etc. I'm passionate about my interests. I am also very technical and skilled. I use both hemispheres of my brain. If you know something I don't know, or have experienced something that I have not, I will ask you tons of questions so I can understand it. In my view, nothing is boring or stupid or lame, everything is something to understand. I'm living my life, and I continue to grow. I'm looking for the same. I would like to find someone amazing, who is continuing to grow, but also knows who they are. I want someone independent, but loving. Creativity, Expression, Emotion, independence and logic are all very important to me. There seems to be so few people capable of making all of it work together. I can.

I think it is obvious that everyone wants someone they are involved with to be their closest friend, so I don't find it necessary to state that I am looking for "friends." I think that is a given. Ultimately, I am looking for long term, but I am not rushing into anything.

If you read my profile and you like what you see, here is what you need to know about me:

1. I'm not at-all hung-up on guy roles versus girl roles. I don't have any of that macho/ego bs. If you want to write me, just write me. If you want to ask me out, ask me out.

2. I'm not that hung-up on age differences, communication and connection are far more important to me. What does this mean? It means that I am looking first for a mental and emotional connection. It is most likely that I will connect mentally and emotionally with someone who has similar intelligence, educational, and life experiences. There is always that chance that I will connect mentally and emitionally with someone very different from myself. I realize this, so I am open to meeting anyone 18-40ish. Because you just never know where you will find that connection.

3. Intense, powerful, humorous, and probing conversation is one of my favorite things.

4. I am a sucker for hyper-smart, glasses wearing, shy, artsy women (btw, where are these women? did they all leave on a UFO or something?). I am putty in your hands. But these are not the only women I am interested in, see #2.

5. I'm not not hung-up on that barbie doll, supermodel ideal.

6. I make LOTS of jokes that seem like I am being serious.

7. I message anyone and everyone who I find interesting for any reason - see #2.

Also, I am much more interested in meeting for coffee to see if there is a real connection. I realize everyone wants to be careful (and you have to be in this day and age) but PLEASE, do not waste my time if you have no intention of meeting for coffee at some point - or not showing up.
