I could write a bit about myself, but I thought it would be better if a close friend would write a bit about me from a woman's perspective. This is what she wrote:

"What can I say about a friend who is so close I consider family.... we are both brutally honest and that's what I intend to be so prepare yourself.

First and foremost Michael is an artist, to the soul. If you cannot understand this, you will never understand him. He is also very set in his ways unless you can convince him that trying something new would be beneficial in any way that suits his fancy. If you are looking for a man to mold into your dream partner- YOU ARE BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE. Michael is sure of who he is, what he likes, how he does things, and when and where he wants to do them. I live 550 miles away from him and I could tell you what's in his refrigerator, and probably guess what he's eaten over the past few days. Some people might think this is bad... I find it very endearing now. I wouldn't like him any other way.

He has perfect teeth! I'm British we know good teeth when we see them!!! I know his smile could melt you into a big puddle, even on those days when you feel like the queen of all ice queens! And just when you think you're at your whit's end and can't cry one more tear or shout one more curse.... he's there... with that smile... the tiny one that he uses to coax you from a bad mood to a good one. Not to mention the voice that does the coaxing: this wonderful, gentle voice reassuring you it'll all be better in the morning. Trust me, even if you know it's not true you'll believe it long enough to get to sleep or make that drive home, or take that last step you just didn't think you had in you.

Ever dated those guys that are the equivalent to that flaky blond friend of yours... forgets that he was supposed to pick you up at 7:30 from work, so he goes bowling at 6, never to show up for you? Even if it means asking someone else to help because he's completely tied at the moment, he will be there for you when you need someone dependable. He would never let anyone be involved with you that he doesn't trust.
Protective (sometimes to a fault) of those he loves, he will be sure you are safe and happy if he has a say about the way things go for you. He hates to lose an argument and he's a tough sell when it's his turn to have the blues. But I always find this to be the perfect time to reassure him that he's loved. I won't give up on him, ever~ and I know without a doubt he'd do the same for me.

Best thing about him girls? HE IS A ROMANTIC - a REAL romantic at heart. When gestures come from him, they are sincere. Any gal that was dumb enough to think his expressions of affection were shallow or an act to get something else... is really missing him now! He's that kind of man that makes you want to kick yourself in the ass after you walk away from him. I like to think that our similarities are what make us such good friends but also what prevents us from ever being lovers... I hate to love him and love to hate him. I'm open to suggestions. Something involving a good amount of conversation would be fine. I'd like to know more about the person I'm with.
