Classical music devotee and enthusiastic
dog owner looking for a human best friend
who loves the arts.

An easygoing, overly-educated, bright, and articulate Classical music enthusiast who lives with two adorable dogs, describes me well. I confess to being a "Yellow Dog Democrat", an Agnostic, and an imperfect & flawed bipedal.

I listen to Classical music most of the time because it thrills me, fills me with joy or sadness, or makes me wistful or pensive. It truly enriches me.

Although not otherwise an opera fan, I enjoy the Gilbert & Sullivan comic operettas immensely. The Beatles are my next favorites. Other music? Well, it depends....

Not on my musical menu, however, are: Rap, Hard Rock, and Country music - too much bile, testosterone, or cholesterol, respectively.

I'm a movie aficionado, and am interested in all phases and aspects of movie making - from script writing to editing and in-between.

Books - both fiction and non-fiction - are always on hand.

Walking about is a great favorite: While I walk, I listen to music (or to NPR) and look at the architecture and magnificent trees. But for the “leash laws” (which I rarely obey…), this pastime would be “heavenly”, even to an Agnostic, I suppose.

Generally, I'm a homebody [i.e. a person who enjoys spending quality time at home, but is not against going out as a diversion]. My dogs like my "homebodiness", but pay no attention to me except during my snacking bouts - when they deign to acknowledge my presence and shamelessly beg for handouts.

Speaking of food: I love dining out with friends, but not at sushi, seafood, or… English restaurants.

Finally, I tend to chuckle and even laugh out loud while I silently read (a flaw by some accounts).

I'm by no means “Prince Charming”, and I don’t expect my chosen partner to be “Princess Perfect” either. Nor do I want a partner who will be my clone.

However, my Best Friend & Partner MUST be very intelligent & well-educated; adore dogs; genuinely like to listen to Classical music (and not only at concert halls), elevate Mind over Money, and NOT OWN CATS.

If she’s also an original thinker, a good writer, non-religious, compassionate & warm, likes the arts, has no dependent children at home, and lives within a 25 mile radius from me – so much the better!

I think that these are reasonable expectations, don't you agree?

A first date should be very casual: It can be ended quickly and without fanfare if it doesn't go well. If it's great, naturally the second date could be more festive and opulent. It's just common sense. Isn't it?
