I am 55, better looking than my picture (taken last summer and I don't photograph well!!) several long term relationships but never married, no kids, and seeking a serious relationship with someone who values a relationship of mutual enjoyment and respect. I like reading, especially mystery novels, NPR, home projects, including woodworking, gardening, mission antiques, art museums, most music,, and spending time with friends. I have two cats and a small dog, so the person must like animals and have no pet allergies. I am liberal politically, and would prefer a partner to be moderate to liberal. It is important to me that my partner be financially responsible. I enjoy just spending time at home puttering or reading or walking my dog. I am a moderate drinker, and prefer my companions to be sensible about alcohol use. I do smoke cigarettes, but I try to be polite about it. Intelligent conversation is very important to me - I like someone to have a wide range of interests. I am a vegetarian, but do not object to others eating meat around me and do not try to convert anyone else to my point of view. I like to listen to live music, rock, jazz and blues. I read a lot of fiction and spend time at the library. I enjoy working and relaxing in my yard. I like going to listen to live music on weekends, as long as it is not too loud. I enjoy dancing, and would hope that my date does too - I wouldn't mind having someone to take dance lessons with. I like to sit and talk over a drink or dinner.
