About Me
I'm an exceptionally nice guy, considerate, outgoing, creative and confident.
I DO have a sense of humour but it's heavy on the sarcasm and historical references, so you might not always get it... but I love to laugh and make people laugh.
I'm interested in meeting compatible people who are fairly close to my age to have fun exploring new interests or sharing mine.
No limits or expectations, nothing too complicated, no drama, just great conversation, and hopefully we connect.
My life is really good... I smile often! My main goal is to raise my son to be a happy, healthy, upstanding Canadian with an enthusiasm for life and a hunger for knowledge. So far, so good!
Beyond that, in my spare time I like to gather with family or friends, or lose myself in one of my interests. Lately I've been playing hockey as often as I can. It's my second-favourite form of exercise.
I listen to lots of music and it's usually playing whenever possible. I realize that there's lots more music out there that I'd probably like but have never explored, and I'd love to hear what you're into. Teach me! My taste in music (so far) ranges from mostly rock & alternative to a little folk, pop, some contemporary and the odd country or retro-rap tune thrown in. I can't say that I like every song by every artist, but some of my favourite artists include Chris Cornell in any of his bands, Neil Young, Cake, Zep, Floyd, Beatles, Sabbath, Junkhouse, Johnny Cash, Soul Asylum, John Cougar, Nuge (Stranglehold), Dave Matthews, Matthew Good, Sheryl Crow, Santana, AC-DC with Bon Scott, Tom Petty, Brother Cane, Urge Overkill (Positive Bleeding), Van Halen, The Cars (Moving In Stereo, Just What I Needed, Let's Go), Priest, Boston, Dave Grohl, Eric Clapton, War (Spill The Wine, Cisco Kid, Lowrider, Why Can't We Be Friends), BNL, The Odds, Stone Temple Pilots (and other bands who ripped off their sound from Zeppelin, like the Tea Party (Save Me) and Great White (Rock Me)), Jimi Hendrix, Bad Co., ELO, I Mother Earth, Supertramp, Max Webster, Rush, The Hip occasionally, and tons of artists that nailed it on one or more songs but generally don't appeal to me, like U2 (Bad, 2 Hearts, Beautiful Day, One, Numb), Marshall Tucker (Can't You See, Heard It In A Love Song, Fire On The Mountain), Garth Brooks (Friends In Low Places and a cool cover of KISS's Hard Luck Woman), Snoop Dogg (Gin & Juice), The Gourds (a nice folky cover of Snoop's Gin & Juice), Dr Dre (Keep Their Heads Ringin'), Run DMC (Rock Box, King Of Rock). I kinda got carried away there... there's more for sure... aren't mp3 players and ipods great? I can bring all this stuff with me anywhere!
First Date
It's a good chance to talk and learn about each other, see if there's any spark, plan our next meeting, plan our escape. So something semi-active, walking, hiking, skating... or less active, dinner, see a game, listen to a band in a more quiet place. Definitely has to be something with a good chance to talk. A combination of things works too! I'd see a movie, I totally love going to them, but not just a movie because you can't talk during it... it's 2 hours of curious silence! I guess if you're really shy a movie buys you some time to overcome it...
Let's go bowlin'!
