I'm an aspiring novel writer, really enjoy the creativity and freedom, and sometimes I feel just like Steve Coogan's character in Hamlet 2 when he's sitting around in front of the computer staring at his cat and writing with an alien mask on. I've considered doing that as a source of inspiration but it would probably get too hot.

I like to think I'm a fairly optimistic, supportive individual. I love to laugh and to try and make others laugh and feel good about themselves because I think life really is too short to dwell on the negative all the time. I'm the type to believe in constant learning and growth and that other people play a valuable role in that. I'm not always the first or last person to talk in a group but I have a great amount of respect and consideration for my friends, I try to take good care of myself, and try new things.

Semi-quick facts:
-My music and movie tastes are pretty eclectic. I can't even list half the things I listen to or watch, I'm already long winded. Just ask. Some of them are listed in my interests section.
-I can read a good book for hours on end and possess a miraculous ability to tune everything else out when I do that or watch TV. Trust me, I get it when you tune out to sports.
-Animals are one of my BIG loves, especially dogs and giraffes (don't ask, I don't know). I like zoos and anything that makes me feel like a four year old again. Those were the times...
-I'd like to travel abroad more (been to China, Germany, and different parts of the States) but I'm definitely going to road trip across Canada and hopefully the U.S. at least once.
-I play piano but I'd love to learn guitar and the drums. I also think painting and artsy activities are stellar.
-Nature is amazing and I enjoy being outdoors; I don't play any intense sports but I don't mind watching or a lesson (maybe someone will finally explain football to me? Seriously, I appreciate a man in uniform but wtf are you doing out there?).
-I like hanging by myself and doing my own thing. I can be hermitty and we hermits like our space, but hermits also like a glass of wine or good beer and someone generous to drive them hungover to a cheap breakfast place in the morning. Just saying. Going to a bar every so often is relaxing with good friends.
-Family is really important to me, I see mine a ton and we laugh a lot. My humor is often offbeat and politically incorrect but at least my family still talks to me afterward.

To be frank, I'm myself and happy about it. I'm not petty or jealous or apt to get into bar fights with chicks (actually, my friends and I would find that really hilarious). Hate drama and arguing over insignificant things. I also don't particularly like arrogance, a lack of manners and lack of common decency for others, or people who try too hard to be something they're not. It's fake and unnecessary!

Overall I think I'm optimistically cynical, confidently humble, a social hermit, and fairly regularly trip while going up the stairs. If you can laugh at that while I'm busy laughing at myself, I think we'll get along :)

Build a couch cushion fort and play SuperMarioBros. Or, you know, just walking around town is a nice way to get out and revisit places or find someplace new. Since I live in the Niagara region, there are usually a ton of places to check out and events going on but I don't mind traveling outside of that and doing something completely different in someone else's neck of the woods. I'm sure we can brainstorm something!

P.S., If you aren't afraid to be random and silly and just be real, that's cool enough for me. I mean, if your thing is to stand on street corners on Saturday nights and shake your ass that's totally up to you. If we get along, I'll find a ukulele and play you a song to dance to if that's what it takes.
