About Me
*SLC exp* I'm visiting SLC primarily to visit 8 of your mountains in 8 straight days. Would love to meet some people for dinner, dates, snowboarding, fireworks (New year's?).

*Reg profile for WA STATE* I'm a CPA (certified public accountant). I like it because my work is varied, and I get access to private information about different businesses. Plus the skills are widely relevant.

About my interests...

Snowboarding. Started in 05-06. So far I've been to Baker, Mt. Hood Meadows, Mt. Hood Timberline, Whistler Blackcomb, White Pass, Stevens Pass, Crystal, Alpental, Snoqualmie, 49 North, Mission Ridge, Hurricane Ridge, Big White, Silver Star and Sun Peaks. I'm going to Utah for 11 days if there's enough snow by the planned departure date, Christmas. It's going to be out of this world!

Cooking. I'm an inventive chef and have some good original recipes. Cooking relaxes me. I eat meat about four times a week on average.

Reading. I recently finished the book about the last 72 hours at Bear Stearns. I'm sort of reading Dante's Paradise right now. Also just read a book about patent gridlock, reading a book about the oceans by Rachel Carson and a book about growing vegetables. Just read a book about characteristics of different cities and the clustering of talent. Others are on deck (Ethical Travel Guide, Geography of Hope, etc.). I've read a couple of Muhammud Yunus books this year. Plus BusinessWeek, blogs, Business Examiner, trade publications, etc. etc. (and I don't have a TV).

Family. My sister, her husband and I are very close. She recently had her first son, and named him after me (middle name anyway). My mom passed away in '07. My dad is an oddball. I have aunts, uncles and grandparents in the area. This is where I grew up.

Money. I'm good with money. I'm an accountant.

Martial arts. I appreciate the martial arts. I used to box a little. I'm not afraid of conflict, but I don't start fights. My garage is a dojo.

Teaching. I can illustrate and explain things interactively in a number of ways, which I think is key. I've tutored math, accounting and writing before, and I taught a full quarter business course to three groups of students at the Northwest Indian College to help get through my last year at WWU.

Eating. Diet has become more and more important to me since reading Fast Food Nation and In Defense of Food. I tend to avoid fast food, frozen food and canned food.

Friends. I've never lost one. The biggest thing I think friendship is is helping people succeed at what they want to do in life.

Farming. This year I began gardening in my back yard, and I'm in the process of learning more about farming. Organic farming, vertical gardening, hydroponic gardening, vertical hydroponic gardening. So much to learn. I could definitely be a happy farmer. But for now I'm a happy accountant.

Racquetball. Fun sport. I still have both eyes.

Art. I love art. I've got a number of original paintings at home, and some metalwork. I see art in just about everything. Art is lovely.

Movies. A good way to unwind. What do people see in crazy disgusting horror movies though?

Community service. I've been a weekly volunteer at the Olympia Food Coop since Feb '08 and really enjoy it. Lately I've been thinking about doing something with Kiwanis or the food bank. I'm involved with the Olympia Downtown Association and WA Center for the Performing Arts, to a lesser extent. And I'm the treasurer of a homeowner's association.

Golf. I enjoy golf. Despite how frustrating, difficult and expensive it is.

Wakeboarding. Of the group I go with, I'm the only one who can get up and ride switch, do a 180 either way, or behind the back. I'm also the only one who's gotten a concussion wakeboarding. I wish they would see the light and go earlier or on cooler days for the glass water.

Tennis. I'd like to find a tennis partner. I live close to some good courts, but haven't played for a few years.

Politics. Because they're important.

If you're an intelligent, open-minded single woman who looks good in a bikini, and you want a decent guy. Then complete that sentence!

First Date
It doesn't really matter if you know how to have a good time.

I'm trying to go a year without a car (as of 5/28/09) so that does make it harder. It makes planning more relevant.
