Greetings ladies,
Are you reading or looking at pictures? Don't sweat it, I look at the pictures first too LOL -- then I read the whole profile. Each of us are looking for that someone special to fill that personal void in our life. Does your heart have wings and are you ready to release it and let it fly?-then write to me. Do you have compassion in that heart for those that can't fly?-then write to me. Do you enjoy a man that is goal oriented on work days and plays just as hard on the play days?- the write to me. On a rainy dreary snowy day, do you cheerish to cuddle your man? Will he allow you to rest peacefully on his arm though the blood circulation was cut off hours ago? If he snores, will you tickle him to make him stop that darn snorning? Do you enjoy the passion of LOVE? Then you need to write to him (me).

It is obvious that my son is handicapped and a big part of my life. I will explain as much of that as I can, a bit later. First, I want to talk about me some.

History: I am originally from Arkansas, lived on a farm all thru childhood.(miss the life dearly now) Joined the Marine Corps as soon as finished school. I flew helicopters for 20+ years. My safe take-offs exceeded my safe-landings by 3. Yeah, I wrecked 3 of them, but I am still here and kicking. I suppose God has better things for me to do in my life, I just don’t know what that is. I am retired from the USMC now; I do support all service members, even if they are in the Navy, AF, Army, CG, or National Guard. I miss the flying but that retirement check and free medical insurance reminds me of the good times. I still have a Secret Clearance w/ Federal Government. About all that means is that I have never been in jail, arrested for anything, convicted of a felony, etc.


My son: Yes, he has some special needs. But that don’t stop us from enjoying life to the fullest. Hopefully the pictures will reflect that. I am my son’s caregiver. We are always together with the exception of when he is with his mother 1-2 weekends per month. This is the greatest job I have ever had. I wake up and I am at work. If I decide to jump in the RV and head out to somewhere for the week, I don’t ask for vacation time!!! All-in-all, you would have to spend some time with my son to experience the pleasures that we enjoy.

About me: I am very focused- whether it is having a good time or something serious. I am a bit of a workaholic. I am an early bird. I enjoy morning coffee on the deck as the sun rises and chatting with my mate at the same time. 2 cups of coffee and I am off to working on some project. I like exercising, 20 minutes on my cardio trainer or with the weights is a great way to start a day- and it is good for me!!! I do a few 5K & 10K races each year, mostly charity races. Golden Corral is our sponsor for 2009.

I enjoy gardening- love them fresh veggies and freezing/canning the rest. I always have a woodworking project going, sometimes 2-3. The current big project is an addition on our home. I am adding a garage, gym room, and a huge entertainment room. Hopefully “she” has some good interior decorating skills, as mine are pour!!! LOL

As you can see from my profile, I enjoy 4-wheeling and I have hosted a couple of POF 4-wheeling parties. At the bottom of this profile is a link to the pictures to the most recent party.

I do a lot of volunteer work for other special needs persons thru-out the state. Even state employees have called me asking me to assist/educate consumers get the services that their loved one needs. I can be found in Raleigh speaking with Senators and Representatives about services and how to write the General Statues to meet the needs of the public. Yes, I also own a few suits & ties!!! I am the chairman of our local CFAC, will explain that one later.

Future: I would like to do a little bit of traveling. I want to take a cruise to the Bahamas. I want to take a 6-8 week RV trip from here to CA to WA to MA and back. I want to do some white water rafting. If I never get to do any of those, I will be OK with that. I hope to have the pool installed this year, then next year build a Florida style family room. After that, “she” can come up with some ideas. LOL
I do love family get-togethers; hopefully “she” has a lot of family near here, as I like big Thanksgiving’s and Christmas’s. Kids- Grandkids, bring ‘em on, I can color too, and sometimes I even stay within the lines, LOL.

About my potential mate: She is looking for a life partner, not an email buddy. Please have a current picture posted or at least one that reflects you now. There is nothing more depressing than to chat with someone for a month or so and then when you meet them, they are totally different from the picture. Hence, I do prefer to meet early.

I want to share my mate with two other guys! One of those is a spiritual entity and the other is my son. Gee, here you are thinking that I wanted to share in a sexual way- shame on you. Given that my son and I come as a team, that element should be obvious. The spiritual element: No, I do not have key to the church and open the doors before the preacher arrives. But if you are offended when I ask the blessing before meals and you have “non-religious” checked on your profile, we aren’t clicking so very well.
Physical attributes: Okay this is where I get beat down! Each person has preferences. I don’t write in hatred, to the ladies that are very appealing to me, but yet she only wants a guy that is taller than me, so please don’t hate on me for my preferences. I don’t make issue of the way our Mom, Dad & God created us, however I do care about how we have taken care of ourselves in life. I love my cardio based workouts. My potential mate is about my height or shorter. She has managed herself well over the years or is one of those lucky ones that could never had to worry about keeping the balance. My potential mate may have had a surgical procedure to re-align the balance- I am so glad medical technology created these procedures- so many lives have been saved by the procedure. Oh, that little pouch and stretch marks that says, Yes- I have had a child- those are God’s work- be proud of yours- I can really appreciate those.
Age: Now that is a very open window. My best friends range from 20+ years younger to 10 years older. My mate will be a great friend first, so age is not an issue. There are unique elements about all ages that I find appealing.
Ethnicity- we MUST be the same!

Okay, now for the deep stuff.

I know that some ladies are not able to join a family whereas a child of special needs is involved. Finding the lady that is right for “US” will be difficult. I could write to every lady that is appealing to me and skip the one that is right. I guess what I am saying is: Please don’t wait on me to write to you- it is ok for the lady to write first.

All-in-all, I am not looking for simply a wife. I am in search of my friend, my lover, my motivator-- you know-- that person that you just think about and a smile comes to your face and the twinkle in your eye brightens! If you are looking for a really wild guy that is kicking it to the beach this weekend, to the mountains next weekend and takes you out to dinner to a different restaurant every night in between, we don’t match. If you are looking for a guy that is serious all of the time, that is solely goal oriented, that rarely relaxes—we still are not matching. But if you love the life that combines it all together, now we are talking – a perfect match!!

All of us are getting older and most of have kids. Our parents are aging too. Accidents happen and any of us could easily find ourselves caring for special needs child without warning. As our parents age, they will need extra attention/care. Is the guy that you seek one that will give up his weekends to do minor repairs to your parent’s home or will he be too busy that weekend? If you married a man today and tomorrow your parents need to move in with you due to an immediate change in their health, will the guy you seek welcome them into his home or will he simply hand you a list of available nursing homes and walk away? Will the man that is perfect for you one that is mature enough to assist your elderly mom change her diaper while wishing he was having a beer instead, or will that man go have the beer and tell you call someone else? I have bathed my former mother-in-law as she was nearing expiration. Carol, I still think of you on occasion, thank you for being one of the best mother-in-laws a young man could ask for.

Wow, that was deep! I hope I have written enough to inspire you to write to me. I hope you have enjoyed reading, cause I loved writing this, and YES, I am real.

First dates: They suck!! You feel like you are at a job interview! I would like to chat with you a couple of times and if I am comfortable, ask you to meet at my home. My son is a key factor in this element. On our first real date, WOW- we could end up doing anything from grilling out to going to a comedy club to a 2 day trip to the beach (summer) or a cabin in the mountains (fall/winter).
