The water is where I am happiest when I am not at home. I enjoy sailing and the good company that often comes with it, but powerboating is good as well. I used to enjoy making Sunday dinners up north - nothing like the smell of a house in winter with a roast in the oven and fresh bread cooking, but the weather in Florida doesn't seem conducive to that often. The good news is I don't do TV sports, but it won't take much encouragement to get me to go to a Panthers game with you.

Now in my second major career, I have been fortunate enough to work in fields that I enjoy. My 20's, 30's, and early 40's were spent progressing through the computer industry, ending up in systems management before I decided to change direction.

Currently I work on the water. While it does take me away from home, it also provides for extended time off - 26 weeks a year (my semi-retirement job :-). I travel extensively in my work, but during that time, I usually am within phone or email contact range. If I am out of range, it is very rarely more than a few days. However, when I am home, I am usually home for 3 weeks, which is great for activities, travel, and home projects.

I put the toilet seat down, the clothes in the hamper, can do the wash (with nothing coming out pink!), and I am generally neat, as well as being handy with my hands and still computer literate. So, I'm not all that bad to have around.

Classical, blues, old rock and Buffet are usually what is heard in my house/car. To touch is a good thing - holding hands, hugs, cuddling while watching movies, a quick shoulder or head massage or just a quick peck on the cheek while passing by!

A few of my preferences might help, as I am looking for a few good dates with a higher probability of success, rather than a lot of dates.

So who am I looking for? My preferred age range is roughly 45-58. Smart is good - your appearance may provide initial attraction, but your mind will keep me stimulated. Have a wry sense of humor, preferably be tall enough so I can look in your eyes when we dance. I don't mind looking up if you have your spikes on! A job is helpful unless you are retired. If you are into astrology - a Libra or an Aries is supposed to be a better match - I don't know about that - you tell me. Politics - center or center left/right, but neither extreme right or extreme left. Locals only please - From Boca south to North Miami.

Things I don't care for: more than minimal body ink, hardware other than on the ears or navel, a waist larger than mine, and those that are not over their last relationship yet. The one thing I cannot have in my life is drug use, due to my profession. I worked too hard to get where I am to lose it because of someone's habit.

I'd tell you more now, but some things need to be saved for when we meet. So, you will have to wait for more until we talk or meet.

Ah, the first date. Since we've met and feel the desire to meet again, what next? Not original, but a quiet dinner would likely be the best start so we can continue to explore each other. Then again, depending on our first meeting, the chemistry may be such that a more energetic activity such as sailing or biking may be appropriate. it all depends on our mutual interests.
