I was one of those kids involved in every activity possible while growing up, and I believe it's made me a pretty well-rounded person as an adult. I have an appreciation for both music and sports and have played both over the years. I still play in a softball league every summer, I attempt (and that's what counts, right?) to play beach volleyball, and I began running this past fall. I now have three 5k's under my belt as of last weekend. I love most outdoor activities, but don't get much of a chance to go camping, hiking, boating, etc., while living in the city. I'm a little bit of a tomboy at times and I'm not usually afraid to get my hands dirty (probably because I have 5 brothers), but I also enjoy doing lots of "girlie" things. Don't get me wrong here--I'm not high maintenance. I love to laugh and can have fun doing just about anything as long as I'm with someone who has a sense of humor. Needless to say, I'd like to find someone who makes me laugh. Entertain me!

Several of my family members have moved to the Chicago area over the past 5 years, and we spend lots of time together. I also have many friends living in or near the city, but it becomes more difficult to make plans with them as they get married and start having kids. I'm originally from a small town, so Chicago is a pretty big place when you're on your own. I love exploring the sites of the city and would like to find someone to join me. Also, the family thing is a biggie--I really hope to find a guy with great values and a general love of family.

Although I love having fun, I also have a serious side. I'm an intelligent, committed, hard-working professional. I graduated college with a degree in criminal justice, but my career has taken a couple of turns since then. I am pretty content right now, although I sometimes wonder if I'll return to the criminal justice field some day. I feel as though I'm a work-a-holic sometimes, but that's where you may be able to help. Give me a reason to leave work on time!

I typically like to meet someone over a couple of drinks. It helps loosen us up a bit, get the conversation flowing, and can lead to some good laughs--assuming it's going well! Dinner is a possibility, but I think it's better for a second date. Movies and concerts aren't my top choices for first dates, as you can't talk and get to know each other.
