My Dad(God bless his soul) had an old 1963 Chev Impala 4 door sedan and every morning he would sit behind the wheel, pump the gas 7 times, tap on the dash and say "Come on old Betsy... you can do it my baby." before turning the key. Most mornings old Betsy would fire up and go after spuddering and firing black smoke out the exhaust... some mornings she wouldn't but he was always very patient no matter how it performed.

One morning I asked "Dad why do you call the car old Betsy and why do you always tap on the dash like that before you start it.". He looked at me and smiled "Son(he called me Sun because he said I got brighter with every question I asked) a good car is like a good woman. You have to be gentle with her, you have to respect her wishes and from time to time you have to know she'll enjoy a little tap on the dash to get her moving." Then he winked at me and told me to never forget what he had told me. And I never did either. As we drove away I looked at old Betsy's dash and leaned forward and gave it a little tap. I was almost sure the car give a little purrrrrr.

I miss the way my father could make everything sound so easy and simple but truly... this isn't all that difficult. I look at you... you look at me... maybe a couple emails and we decide to meet for a coffee or a drink or whatever. Who knows... it maybe the last first date we'll ever have... computers are cool but you cannot substitute it for dating. You just can't.

I'm a super nice guy looking for a nice level headed down to earth good hearted girl.
