About Me
Updated: December 21, 2009
I am a hard working, intelligent, and dedicated professional. I am unbreakably loyal to those that I care for. I have a quick tongue... no, I am not talking about that you pervert! I can always think of something witty to say and like to express myself in writing or in pictures. My friends describe me as reserved but caring, friendly, and too smart for my own good. Mayhap, I might have been that geeky kid you cheated off on in school! I have been told that I am too much of a nice guy. Perhaps I am a bit old fashion because I bet you could not find a door that I would not hold open for you. I am a fantastic listener and I handle difficult situations well; like for example, while shoveling snow during the 2009 blizzard, the weight of ice pulled my gutter off. My first reaction, you ask? Disgust? Hatred? Anger? Nah, I was like, "oh, you do not see that every day."
While I tend to consider myself as pragmaticist, I can see the positives in every situation and believe that you can find a solution with enough searching. On the same token, I can accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue. Physically, a few women have remarked that I am like a teddy bear, but that is more for you to love!
Though, I am currently on a diet, which really is an intense test of willpower. I am keeping my carb intake under 20 grams a day and it is pretty stressful at times. I keep a sealed box of crackers on my dining room table just to prove that I can fight those carbs! So maybe one day I will not be so much of a teddy bear any more ;(
Recently, ever since I bought my new house in Baltimore, making it look all awesome and everything, I was put into a corner. See, now I have to fend for myself, and that means cooking for myself. When I first moved in, I had no idea what I was getting into. Cooking was an antiquated skill, remnant from home economics back in Middle School. But you know? After a month, I am pretty damn good at it. I am really good at following directions and pretty creative, so thinks have been going much better than I could have ever expected. And ladies, you know what that means; the coupling of being able to follow directions and creativity means I am trainable, and I am quick learner, to boot! *wags tail* I carry many other skills that I won't name but you can find out later ;)
My goals include (in no particular order), some more distant than others: - Buy the 2010 Camaro 2LT Coupe when it comes out in March 2009 (probably silver, what do you think looks best?); - Tell my boss that I am taking a break... and go to Italy (hopefully Spring 2010) - Go back to school to get my masters; - Visit an old friend in Connecticut; - Take over the world. Try not to get assasinated.
Driving to places far away by myself frighten me. I would say that I have a fear of getting lost, but that is not entirely accurate as I would get lost in a paper bag. It is not that I am stupid, it is just that I have a horrible sense of direction - give me a compass pointing north, and I will probably break it and get lost, taking you down with me, but then saying it was my plan all along! When I driving with another person though, it is all good. My New Year's resolution last year was to be more adventurous. I started out by driving to New Jersey that day, furthest driving for me than ever before. Since then, I have ventured further out from my comfort zone but still not where I want to be. Even now, I still do not feel comfortable driving to D.C. I want to travel more but I do not want to do it by myself. I really would like to go to Europe and Asia.
I am definitely a political animal. I believe that the best type of Government is democracy, tempered by assassination. Just kidding! I am politically conservative, socially liberal. A societal conundrum at heart. I never mind a friendly political debate if you are up to it. Ironically, though, I am a Government employee for a very liberal-minded Federal Agency, putting balance to the unbalanceable - like the cat, strapped with buttered toast on its back and thrown in the air. The popular view amongst many regarding Government employees is not applicable to me. I try to make a difference everyday and I love my job every eight days out of ten. The other two days are just ok! I get to sit in my brown cubicle looking for my red stapler. Have you seen it?
I am a huge Raven's fan and I cannot stand the Steelers. If you are a Steelers' fan, I will bite you! It was a sad season but we are coming back even stronger next year! I enjoy most sports, especially local ones. Baltimore used to have a professional baseball team, but I still get excited each season. I like to think, "maybe this one will be the one (in my dreams)!"
On a completely different note, though I love animals, and I am a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) supporter, seagulls are my adversary! Yes, those creatures that flock all over the place. They are evil creatures, rats with wings! I have a crazy story real life story about their vileness! Feel free to ask me about the story and I am sure you will get a laugh.
In my personal life, I am certified geek. I love to watch the History Channel, SciFi Channel, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Family Guy, Simpsons, etc. When I have time, I watch the Office and Scrubs. Kevin Smith movies are great, most horror movies, drama, and SciFi are ducky, too! I am also the type of guy that can stand that occasional chick flick. Moreover, have computer problems? Ignore those radio advertisements! No need to call a geek service, I can totally diagnose and fix it!! Computer handyman at your service! Unless your a Steelers' fan! I still feel like I have kept part of my childhood; I love video games, I am great with children, and I think Legos are the best invention ever.
I am a fan of most types of music, precluding country and rap. I have quite a few listed on my interests, though that list cannot be considered all inclusive by any means. I am always interested in any new music that you can share. Though, I tend to dissuade myself from screamer metal.
I can bake awesome cookies; my favorite to bake is white chocolate macadamia nut cookies or just plain chocolate chips. If you behave well enough, maybe I will give you one! I want to learn how to cook better because I think that any productive relationship involves a sharing of responsibilities.
I enjoy drawing, as well. Lately, I have been drawing Pon and Zi comics just for fun. Taking real life phrases and putting them into art is always fun. You can check out some of the things that I have done at http://metteec.deviantart.com.
My college days are over and I am not getting any younger. I ha

Do you like to watch your favorite movies on a huge, crisp, and vibrant plasma television screen? Are you an avid lover of a wide range of movies and television shows and love to waste time watching them? Have you had the desire to hang out with a cuddly but completely innocent guy who would never do anything bad (and I am serious too, as it is ALWAYS the girl corrupting me, not vis-a-versa - I am like innocent kitten forced to chase endlessly in circles because my iniquitious owner tied a toy to my tail)? If so, you may be eligible for a research study investigating the effect of a plasma television screen on the female persuasion when added to your daily routine. You must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Study related care, including television set, movies, edibles, and massages provided at no cost to you. For more information, please contact the owner of this message by scurrying your mouse!
But seriously, one of my favorite things to do is just go for a walk through Patapsco State Park. I feel so relaxed there. When I was little, the swinging bridge there was SO HUGE! It was neat to peer off below to the river, like the whole world was below. Now that I am a little older, it is not so big, but still fun.
Anyone remember the turtles at the Baltimore Zoo that you could crawl into? I have a picture somewhere when I was little, spinning around in those turtles. There were two of them there, and I would definitely not mind getting another picture!
You could also come visit for dinner and I will make something yummy for you, maybe have a glass of wine or two (I have tons of variety!) - though for desert, all I have is jello and whipped cream, right now (sorry).
So just shoot me a message, I will not bite unless you want me to!
Note: My IM does not work for some reason so just send me a message!
knotypical has 2 roses that can be sent.
