About Me
OK, let's give this a shot!
I've lived in Halifax before, had a great job and a decent set up, but decided to get away for a while to satisfy the travel bug. I went on an extended holiday far far away, and also came back home to just enjoy my free time. In all, I was completely free and clear to do whatever I wanted for 15 months and it ruled. I was left with a great new outlook and a better understanding of who I am. Sounds corny I'm sure, but it really did happen and I'm glad I did it:)
I came back to the city to take a great new job, which I'm really enjoying, and I really feel like things are coming together for me in every way. What I'm looking for now is a great girl to spend time with and get to know. I'm open for whatever happens and I always go into any new encounter with the goal of making sure we both have fun, laugh a lot and enjoy ourselves. Whatever happens next is up to the fates:)
I'm a person with eclectic tastes. I read a lot and I love to write everything from short stories for kids to ideas for comedy skits. I like going to the gym and I'm always up for something active. I took up surfing and kayaking on my extended vacation and I would LOVE to get the chance to ride a few chill waves or paddle around a peaceful cove, or even take it into the open ocean. I'm also into a wide array of indoor fun ranging from smacking around a ball at a mini putt course, playing cards with my friends and going to museums, art galleries, plays and music shows. Although I have a very chillaxed side of me, I cannot be described as a quiet guy. I'm very outgoing, I love to talk and I'm always quick with a fitting and sometimes inappropriate joke. For all of you people with dry or sarcastic senses of humor, I speak your language indeed. For all of you who find the stupidest things to be the most hilarious things in the universe, I too can identify with you:)
I also like the typical guy stuff like watching any type of sport involving a cage, a ring, a rink or a ball. I like going out every now and then with my friends and having a few pops, and I think yelling at the referee of any sport is a perfectly acceptable practice as long as said referee made a blatantly horrible call or a call that was borderline acceptable although went against the home team during a crucial part of the game.
I sing in a band that plays everything from old 60's blues based rock n roll to a little bit of Rage Against the Machine. I'm also trying to learn the guitar and I have the sore fingertips to prove it:) I loves me some music! I love bands like Bloc Party, MGMT, The Editors, The Black Seeds, Led Zep, and bands a lot of people would have a problem with like Van Halen, Aerosmith and yes, the dreaded Def Leppard. My favorite kind of music? Well although I'm a love of punk, metal, rock, indie and neo jazz, hip hop and rap, the all time grand champion of my music heart: Motown.
To sum me up, I'm the kind of guy you can stick into any social setting and I'll come out of it having had a good time and with a few new friends.
In terms of what kind of girl I'm looking for, I'd say on the top of my list is intelligence. Although a pretty face gets your foot in the door, it's a person's personality and attitude that lets them stay for the party. I like confident women who have their own thoughts and beliefs and aren't afraid to challenge people, especially me.
I like girls who have their own lives outside of the relationships they're in. I like someone with interests. They don't need to be the same as mine either, in fact I'd love to learn about new stuff! Another need is someone who likes to talk. They don't need to be a social dynamo, but as long as you like to chat and laugh, then that's workable. I also prefer people with compassion for others who think before drawing a conclusion about something. Open mindedness is key! ;)
Well I think that's enough for now:) If I've rung your bell, even a little, drop me a line and let's chat:) If you want another pic or two, just ask.
First Date
I'm a pretty spontaneous person, and the first date would really have to depend on what we're both interested in doing. The dinner and a movie thing is usually not an option because it's usually too boring, it's overdone, and the worst part: you don't really talk to the other person enough. I prefer a chill setting where we can talk but also do something fun. I've never gone for coffee and then to a cooking class on a first date. Sound like fun to you? :)
