I'm not exactly mainstream. I'm the square peg that doesn't even care about fitting in the round hole. I have a twisted, sarcastic and black sense of humor. I'm creative, infinitely curious and fascinated with different cultures, architecture (and an endless variety of other subjects). Not into sports except for a rare hockey game or fight. I'm not overly materialistic, I have always valued experiences and people over things. I am honest but diplomatic, and very open with those I love and trust. I love kids and am a great father. I'm independent and self-sufficient (cook, clean, etc.); I don't need to be taken care of... but I sure would like it occasionally! I'm a true romantic at heart just waiting for the right woman to prove it. (I'll bypass some other info until I can think of a non-tacky way to phrase it.)

Yes that is my real age; no, I don't look it (even IRL). I hear it a lot both on- and offline. But it's not just looks, it's everything else about me too: style, interests, personality, lifestyle, etc. Since most of my "peers" seem to get stuck in a rut or trapped in an era, I find it difficult to relate to them, so I tend to have friends and relationships with those much younger than myself.

So what am I looking for? You must have similar interests and personality, but be different enough to keep things interesting and balanced. Independent enough to have your own life, but there's no relationship without a certain amount of dependence, is there? I'd prefer someone creative (talent is a major turn-on), but not an absolute requirement. Fun, caring, adventurous, etc. I could go on, but ultimately it's going to be your unique combination of known and unknown qualities that will win me over. Must be looking for a long-term commitment down the road, and wants or at least open to having kids.

Physically, I prefer thin (but not like stick), fit, petite. I would also say "average", which used to mean height/weight proportionate, but online the term has come to mean something different online; 10 or more pounds overweight seems to be the new "average". I understand bodies fluctuate, a couple pounds aren't going to be a deal breaker, but seriously overweight is not "average". I LIKE curves, but spherical doesn't count!

I am not attracted to heavy women. There are plenty of guys who are, so don't get offended by my preference, just move on.

As far as height goes, I prefer shorter (than me), but I have dated women taller than me (even married one), so there are sometimes exceptions.

About religion, simply put, I respect your right to believe, but I don't respect your belief. (Buddhism as philosophy, and non-religious, non-deity-driven spirituality are the only exceptions, depending on circumstances.) Seriously, if you're religious, I'm not interested. You will never convert me, but I might damage your faith. There are plenty who share your beliefs, should be no trouble finding them. Let me reiterate: -- RELIGION IS A DEAL-BREAKER! --

Age is definitely a factor also. As stated above, I tend to date women much younger than me. I'm not interested in dating in my age group, and definitely not older. It's not just about physical attraction (though that is sometimes a factor), it's personality, outlook, goals, etc. Most importantly, I would like to have kids someday, after a few years together, so time, age and biology become major concerns. (Sorry if you feel angry or bitter about this... just move on)

And finally... there are sometimes exceptions to the rules!
