Every one that meets me says that I am somewhat laid back. I don't believe in letting the small stuff or things that you can't control bother you, there are plenty of "big" things and things you can control to occupy your time. I enjoy doing/trying just about anything and would like to meet some one to spend time with and see what happens. Family is very important to me and one of my big pleasures is being there for my kids. They are 21, 19 and 16 and live with me, some of my days are very busy.
I love the outdoors. Having grown up and lived my entire life in the Chicago area weather is never a factor for keeping me indoors. Fishing is one of the things I try to do whenever possible, including ice fishing. I would love to camp more but lack of friends who like to camp or have time to camp limit my opportunities.
Getting in better physical shape has been one of my major goals in the past year. I generally go to the gym 4-5 times a week and it has become a part of my daily routine. I would really like to start riding a bike and hope to convince my friends to join in this summer or find some one new to ride with. Basically if it is outdoors I either do it or want to try it.
On the indoors front, I truly enjoy cooking and am quite good at it, which is one of the reasons I go to the gym. I am quite happy to stay at home and play board games, dice, card, etc. I am not a big bar type guy but I like, on occasion, going to local type bars and listening to music, watching the Bears, Sox and Hawks or just watching people.
I have a strong work ethic, go to work every day, pay my bills and try to be there for my friends and family. There is no better feeling than being there for a friend or family member in need.
My one regret is not having traveled much but I hope now that my kids are self sufficient I can rectify that situation.
I would really like to meet some one with whom would enjoy spending time with me as much as I would with them. That does not mean every waking moment would need to be spent together. I think two people in a relationship also need time for themselves.
