A Canvas To Dream Upon

Have you ever wanted to step into a picture
Painted by your dreams

Nestled in amongst the willow trees
A gazebo rises out of the mist

Bathed in the soft glow of lamplight
A wind blows in off the lake

Tantalizing rapture
The song of the sirens call from the frolicking waves

Reaching out to a wistful memory
It absorbs you as you fall in love with your dream

Inside you hear the music
At first only a flicker of a far away sensation

The swaying of the universe
Bidding you to follow

As blindly you climb the steps
And stop in the centre of the circle

The music commands the wind to play
Surrounding you in a mesmerizing trance

Your body just an exention of a being
Twirling as the tactile opening leads you through

The eyes of another dimention
A tiny dancer on a revolving glass floor

A music box opened long ago
in childhood or another life

Someone takes your hand
And as you float in the illusion

Your body becomes butterflies
Of graceful wing

Eyes open wide trusting as you glide
In the arms of your dream

And you dance alone
Consumed by the fires in your soul

The hand that leads just knows.
