| | For me, life is about creativity--I'm either being creative myself, or partaking of someone else's creativity, whether it be in the form of literature, film, video games, whatever. Life's too short to party and I'd much rather go to the MET or see the New York Philharmonic.
But with that said, I also love to kick back, stay home and watch my favorite DVDs. Days like that are absolutely essential. I'm also a big reader and enjoy the works of William Burroughs, Anais Nin, and writers of the English persuasion such as Richard Adams, Wodehouse, D.H. Lawrence, and Waugh.
My values are strong; I'm the new old school, a straight-edger who doesn't wallow in typical female fantasies of meeting the "perfect" man. ( newsflash: nonexistent! ) Nor let the media dictate how I should act, what I should wear, who I should strive to be.
Once I'm on a higher income I want to pursue a graduate program, probably in either illustration or fashion. I'm currently working full-time and freelancing. Saving money ( and spending some :D )
I'm into stuff that a lot of people my age are into. Favorite movies include: The Big Lebowski, Eraserhead, Buffalo 66, Braindead. Favorite shows/cartoons include: The Office (british + american version), Jeeves and Wooster, Ren and Stimpy, Invader Zim, The X-Files, Six Feet Under, Keeping Up Appearances. Favorite games include: Katamari Damacy, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy 7 and 9, Zelda series, Paper Mario. Anything FPS. Favorite music includes: Radiohead, Motorhead, Animal Collective, Deerhoof, Clinic, Black Devil Disco Club, the Rapture, Stereolab, Portishead, Massive Attack, Dizzee Rascal, the Doors, the Beatles, the Who, Hendrix, ( mostly anything classic rock ) Final Fantasy, Bjork.
I've recently delved into metal and discovered that I have a weakness for Judas Priest, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Mastodon.
I'm living in Brooklyn and rather liking it. Sunset Park is a magical, gritty place where there's no shortage of chinese food, corner bodegas, and cars blasting through the streets with their radios at unspeakable volumes.
If you fancy a chat, I'm on AIM pretty frequently.
