About Me
My wife and I separated in June of '08 and we're about to consummate our dissolution of marriage. Whew, that was no day at the beach. Anyway, after a few months of self pity I'm beginning to understand that this is actually a wonderful, perhaps magnificent development replete with adventure, tenderness, kindness and yes, love, allowing me the opportunity to fashion an exciting and meaningful new beginning beyond my wildest dreams! How cool is that? I am soooo psyched and fired up about this new phase of life and very excited about sharing everything with a tender kind and loving lady.
So, what am I all about you ask? Well, I/we retired to a new house in Placida four years ago after a thirty year gig with the same company as a paper and packaging account executive in New England. I love music and played the piano for many years, but have always had a thing for bluegrass, so I picked up the banjo last year and have been practicing ever since. Tip: Don't even think about it unless you're mega dedicated. I'm loving it, jamming with others and will follow this wherever it takes me. I'm not an inveterate reader, but do enjoy and seem to always have a geographic or historical novel going and have begun, probably as a result of my recent emotional trauma/growth, sniffing around the edges of all things spiritual, e.g. eastern religious thought, meditation, yoga, etc. and believe I'm onto something. I've been a little stuck in my own head recently, but look forward to re engaging with the world on all levels. I love travel, movies, theater, art galleries, museums, dining out, beautiful walking talks, a little quiet and peaceful fishing occasionally and am pretty much open to trying anything new save jumping out of airplanes.
First Date
Regarding a first date, I'm all about spontaneity. I would plan something really very simple, like meeting for lunch and a walk and then just letting things unfold as they will. If there's an obvious spark, it'll naturally morph into something more meaningful and I think the exciting, delicious part is stepping back and just letting that happen. Hey, an innocent ice cream at noon could become a trip to the library followed by some thrift shopping, take out pad thai at the beach followed by a walk and... Who knew?
