About Me
These pictures were taken on March 7th, 2009. As a widower for almost 14 years, my daughter has been the main priority in my life. Now that she drives her own car, I'm ready to start focusing on my own life. I've gained alot of weight since my last breakup four years ago, and I want to start having some fun again. Whether that means playing a sweaty game of racquetball, meandering down the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, or experiencing the Phantom of the Opera. But it could also mean catching up on American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and/or So you think you can Dance, or simply going out of town on a last minute weekend getaway!
Anyone who knows me would say that I can be hilarious and have people rolling on the floor one minute, yet be engaged in an intellectual conversation the next; it's all about the challenge and no, I'm not bipolar! I can be serious, goofy and everything in between! As a certified audio geek, I love listening to music and watching movies in my home theater.
Things I don't like include: liars, fakes, know-it-alls, smokers and sports-fanatics (you know who you are; I'm not talking about the casual fans here). I prefer face to face over talking on the phone, although I'll settle for talking on the phone over emailing or texting.
I love a good challenge, whether it's a dare, a sport or trying something new. At some point or another I've played just about every individual or team sport, as well as skydiving, scuba-diving, hang-gliding, bungee-jumping, helicopter-rappelling, waterskiing, downhill-skiing, surfing, hot-air-ballooning, roller-disco-dancing and plain old break-dancing! There's probably nothing I won't try...except for maybe swimming with the sharks or juggling chainsaws.
Favorite radio stations include 95.7 Kiss, KS107.5 or Cozy 101.1 for their Saturday night Cozy Copacabana! I love dance music the most, but not really into country, hard rock or ganster rap...
First Date
The first date should be more of a light-hearted meet and greet rather than an actual date. Things I'd rather not do on a meet and greet are go to the movies (too distracting) or to a coffee shop (too cliche). It's all about getting to know each other so as long as we can have a quiet conversation, I'm happy just about anywhere.
Now if those "magic" sparks do start to fly, we may just have to convert the meet and greet into a real date and keep going! Maybe a short motorcycle ride into the foothills (I don't get to ride very often) to find a hiking trail, or maybe a local park bench for a light sushi-to-go picnic. And after the Sun goes down, we may just have to find an oldies dance club, now that Polly Esther's is no longer around. And who knows; maybe breakfast at the closest Diner or Denny's before we call it a day? Ahhh... isn't life great!
