The experiences are what make life worth living. I love trying new things from bungee jumping to swing dancing, as long as it has the potential for fun I'll at the very least consider it. The other passion in my life is knowledge and discovery. It is elevating and exhilirating to consider the remarkable adventures and ideas which we can encounter on this pale blue dot.

Introductions are a must when you're selling yourself so here's a bit about me (hopefully it's tantalizing and enthralling, or at the worst; interesting).
I moved back to Canada after a doing my Master's Degree in England and am working in oil and gas in forder to fund a PhD. I'm a big fan of being active, I love going to the gym and am willing to try any activity at least once. I enjoy reading and writing, playing guitar, all things scientific and the usual hanging out, having fun, doing volunteer work, etc. I'm pretty funny and like to make people laugh and even know some physics and bio jokes (don't worry though, I don't bring them out on a regular basis. I'm a bit of a nerd, but it's not that bad).

Since I'm working out of town, I don't have a lot of time to meet new people, so I decided to give this a try and see what comes of it. Initially I'd like to meet someone to hang out with, maybe go dancing or do the occasional dinner. If something more serious comes out of it that's great, but I'm not specifically searching for matrimony or anything long-term. Also, my internet access is a little spotty when I'm in the field so I apologize in advance if you don't get a timely reply

As far as what I'm looking for, it should be someone who likes to do new things, wants to have fun and enjoys intelligent conversation. Smokers and druggies are a definite no. I have no problem with drinking, but if you need to get trashed to have fun, we probably won't get along. I abhor intolerance and ignorance so if you're a misogynist, homophobe, sexist, racist or otherwise; look elsewhere. The only other major turn-off is religious zealotry. If you're a little religious, I won't hold it against you (though I am the crown-prince of anti-theism), but if you're convinced that everyone else is a sinner and doomed if they don't join your particular sunday club, we won't get along.

Just for Fun here's some random information about me;
-I went mountain climbing by myself at midnight in Scotland and it was fantastic.
-I won an improv poetry contest in Rome for a particularly bawdy limerick about the Pope.
-I love chocolate milk, Nintendo, and a number of decidedly juvenile activities.
-Favorite Comedy: 40-year old Virgin
-Favortie Food: Sashimi
-Favorite Celebrity: Carl Sagan! Hey, scientists should count, it's better than listening to Paris Hilton.....
-I once made a fake proposal to a girl as a joke, but the bar and everyone in it thought it was real....
-I tend to have a number of misadventures every year, but they result in some very funny stories.

Could be something simple like drinks and a walk in the river valley, or something fun and original be it wall climbing, go-karting, festivals, tubing, I'm always looking for new experiences.

Just nothing to do with Hockey, I think I'm the only guy in Edmonton who doesn't like it.
