I feel that we all wind up using time when meeting/being with someone. So why not spend it with 'that person'. That's what I'm looking for..."that person". The last person I dated was great and we mutually cared for each other, but I wanted to move forward with them and they said that they weren't ready for it.
I want someone who is. Are you?
I will not jump into anything just for the sake of it though.


About me:
I do my best to lead a healthy lifestyle, but have been known to indulge from time to time. I eat as healthy as I can so I can live as long as possible. I'm not a drinker. I think I might have had one drink in the past 6 months. I don't smoke anything.
I like working out. I have a physical goal which I don't feel I've reached yet, but I enjoy the stages along the way.

I'm a geek of sorts, witty, well-groomed, sarcastic, likes good (correct) English and grammar, likes TV & movies, forward, likes technology, favorite color is green, likes dark chocolate and spicy things, and likes people who are not flakes.
I don't like "Type-A" personalities. Too tense for me. Not really a sports fan (it's been known to happen). ;)

I'm somewhat of a homebody, but would greatly enjoy time out with the right person. I always have some kind of lip balm in my pocket. I read either a book or magazine while traveling on public transportation if I know it'll take a while. I'd like to think I have a good sense of humor...even though it may be a bit dirty (Giggity). I like sitting and watching people sometimes, even though I feel that most people shouldn't reproduce. You know what I'm talking about if you've ever ridden the subway or been on a bus in NYC. I do actually care about people, even if some folks don't want to be cared about.
I have a stronger personality than most, but am laid back too. It might seem contradictory but it works. I speak what's on my mind. If I think or feel something about you I'll tell you. It's only fair. Details matter. Not every detail, but most of them.

I like swing and big-band music, as well as rock and 80's metal, but do like some lovey-mushy stuff too. I haven't gone to a concert in some time. Oh, yes, I call them "concerts", not "shows".
I'd really like to learn swing dancing as well as other ballroom styles (any takers?).
I tend to want to stay in the movie theater until all of the credits have past. Not always, but mostly.
I love Italy and the language even though I don't speak it. I'd love to live there.
I do not like that typical Brooklyn/New York/"Sopranos" accent. That's all I'll say about that.

I really hate bullsh*t games. I don't play games with people, and can't stand people who do. Confusion is something different. If someone is confused about something, they need to speak up about it. I might even be able to help.

I have piercings and tattoos (fair warning...you can see them in my pictures). You don't have to have any, but you won't hear me complain if you do. ;)
I think that people with tattoos have less fear of commitment than most others, and that's a good thing (especially if it's a more thought out tattoo).

I like pushing buttons...elevators, telephones, computers, and especially people's! I don't wish to waste your time, as well as I don't wish to waste mine. ...and if I'm trying to learn about you, and I feel like I'm digging too long, and too deeply and nothing surfaces, that probably means that you're too much work, and we shouldn't even be talking. Open up a little!!

An interesting fact: I've noticed that most people seem to really not like honesty. They think they do, but then freak out when you tell them how it really is...but I'll continue to do so anyway.

I know the difference between "your", "you're" and "yore", "to", "too" and "two", and "their", "there", and "they're". Do you? If you don't...


About you:
Shorter than me is good. I want/need someone who is compatible with me. Opposites really don't attract me in the personality department. Similar interests, tastes, and views work so much better.
This section might seem a bit shorter than the previous section and that's okay. You should have the feeling that you could have written a lot of that in your own profile (compatibility).
No cats please...or more specifically, no "Cat people".

I'd like someone in shape, and that possibly works out, or at least understands that it's part of my life (maybe even someone who wants to start, and go with me). Just climbing the 'stairmaster' all the time doesn't cut it.


In closing:
There are lots of people on this site saying they are "down to earth" ('Down to earth' is an English idiom meaning 'practical and realistic'...I looked it up). Really? Are they? Hmm. Well, I really hope that's accurate if it's written.

I mean what I say and say what I mean. So should you. I'm a goofball who is seriously tired of dating and it going nowhere. I hope you read my profile fully as I will yours. I have the ability to compromise. You should too.

There is no perfect first date. Just either a great one, or a terrible one, or even an "ok" one (well, I guess that covers everything, huh?). The two people 'make' the date, not where you go or what you eat.
Let's have a great first one. Then we'll have stories to tell others when we're on our 15th.
