Alrighty then. Life is a buffet of experiences and I'm looking for someone to try new dishes with! I'm a 50 (young!) single dad with a 17 year old who of course knows everything (ha!)

Exercise is important to me. I am NOT one of those guys with a beer gut who spends Sundays sitting around watching people be active. I would much rather do than watch.

I go the the gym almost everyday, I do Tai Chi and when it's warm I bike. I also like walking and cross country skiing. I'm not too bad a dancer and have had some lessons. I wouldn't mind a few more dance classes.

I work in engineering but have a degree in fine art - go figure. I've been in various art guilds over the years and currently have some pieces in a gallery in DT Rochester. I also write short stories and have a couple published on a web page. I'm currently working on a book and some more stories.

I am a HUGE reader, mostly non-fiction but I'll read just about anything.

I'm looking for a partner, an equal. I DON'T need someone to cook and clean for me as I do those things myself and have for years. Yes ladies, I actually know what those funny boxes are for where dirty clothes go in and clean ones come out. I like all kinds of ethnic food, Indian being my favorite. I've been know to stink up the kitchen with a curry from time to time. I'm told I'm a good cook.

What makes me unique? This is Michigan and I have custody of my son. I've been a single parent for 5 or 6 years. I don't spend money on lottery tickets, flashy toys, etc. I have a great sense of humor, I HATE head games, I've worked steadily since I was 14, I don't have a criminal record and can leap tall buildings with a single bound (okay, two.) I have no addictions to smoke, drink, food or drama. I get lots of exercise and take care of myself. I also collect old watches and fountain pens. (For all you die hard pen collectors.) Family is very important to me and I hope you too.

I like travel to Chicago and recently NYC. "Up North" is beautiful also. I would love to meet someone to travel with.

Usually coffee to see if we get along. Chemistry may not be on the spot but usually after an hour or so you get a good idea.

For a REAL date, eating out and a walk or a movie if it's later. Going to the DIA also works. It's interesting to see what sort of art people like.

For after that, maybe bike riding or a long walk, see a play or a concert.
