Just got to Nashville in Oct '09, moved up from Florida.

I spend a lot of time exercising these days (trying to turn back that clock to my more athletic youthful days), but I am often a homebody when I can relax with my dogs or doing dog-related activities outdoors. I like to get out and have fun occasionally (not into clubs or dancing...very allergic to them, actually), although I'm basically flying blind when it comes to Nashville and what it might have to offer socially.

I am not looking for random hookups or flings, but I'm not looking to settle-down right away, either. If the right person comes along, that will eventually happen. Being a "dog person" is a must. If you have some "wow" factor and can knock me head-over-heels, bring it on!

I am a good guy who doesn't take to that many people, but those that I do like get treated very well. I'm picky...I can't help who I like and who I don't, and I'm not going to try to get to know you and find ways to like you if my gut says "no" from the start. I am extremely affectionate, love to bring out smiles and laughter, and enjoy being sensual with the right person. It just might take a long time for me to trust you enough to open up and let you see every side of me.

Musically, my taste is pretty narrow and primarily in the alternative rock genre. I generally play well with others with different tastes (or at least try) - just don't make me go deaf with it!

Some of the things I hate: country music (yes, I know I will be subjected to lots of it in Nashville), rap, and hip-hop; mosquitos; fire ants (none in Tennessee I hear...hooray!); flakes; fakes; liars; hypocrites; and two-line messages.

I don't need your life story in an introductory email, but if all you have to say is "wanna chat sometime" or "check out my profile," then don't bother. I won't respond. Show me you have a little more substance.

There are just sooooo many options for a first date, and it totally depends on the person. For some people, just a safe lunch or coffee shop meeting is the right way to go (although that's not really a "date," more of just a meet-and-greet). I'm pretty flexible depending on what the other person prefers.
