Well let's see here... I'm not very good at writing these things, which is ironic because I love writing. My name is Steve. I am a tall red head (6 feet) with blue eyes. I weigh about 170 pounds and I have short hair. I have my eyebrow pierced and my lip pierced. I am originally from the south, but I moved to Chicago 11 years ago. I still have a slight southern "twang" so to speak, but I have also found myself taking on the bad grammar of mid-westerners too (i.e. - ending sentences with prepositions.... "You wanna go with", and pop for soda).

I'm a modest person so it's awkward sometimes to describe the type of person you are. I'm kind and a gentleman. I'm thoughtful and romantic. I'm very open-minded and easy going. I don't let things get to me. I think I'm an intelligent person but never as much as we think we are, I've learned.

I work as the Technical Services Manager of a printing company that produces gift cards. We don't actually make the cards, but print the variable data on them, PIN numbers, bar codes, etc. I won't delve to deeply into it, unless you're looking to be put to sleep. Basically there, I am in charge of the equipment and machines. I've been there 10 years and I like it. A lot of responsibility and stress, but there are lots of good people and every day there's a new challenge.

In my free time I am a writer (poetry mostly) and a musician. I love going to concerts and poetry readings. I play bass guitar, but I'm not in a band anymore. Not in a few years. I play a little guitar, but I coming to terms with the fact that perhaps my ambition is far greater than my ability. I also love reading philosophy.

First date: I think you keep it simple. Coffee or dinner and see if there is any chemistry between us.
