Currently, I am the operations manager for a small company in the building automation industry. This is mainly using computers/devices to control mechanical equipment, lighting, security, etc. (Please take a moment to yawn, if necessary).

I used to work part-time as a massage therapist. I really enjoyed helping people feel better. Unfortunately, after working on so many people, I developed a rare fetish: elbows. They just take me to another place....No surprise that I seriously dig short-sleeved shirts.

I won't sit here and try to convince anyone that I have everything figured out. I believe we are a work in progress. And throughout this last year, life has thrown quite a few curve-balls my way. It can be tough without someone to be there through the difficult times, or to share the good times with.
I try to make working out a priority. I'm usually at the gym 3-4 times a week. I feel so much better physically and mentally from exercising. I have also been getting to church more often, which helps spiritually.
I am very close to my parents and my brother. I'm the proud uncle of 3 nieces and 1 nephew. I'm proud of the job my brother has done as a parent, especially considering his wife had 2 girls from a previous marriage. That's a tough role, which I don't think enough people take seriously.

I'm open to all kinds of different things: salsa lessons, white water rafting, you name it. We have a place near Traverse City, Michigan. It's right on a lake, and I try to get there as often as possible. I love the outdoors. I recently went on a pretty tough hike in Yosemite (my first one). Amazing experience! I'm an avid reader. I enjoy watching sports, but I'd rather play them. I have 2 dogs; one of them was a Hurricane Katrina rescue.
Soooo.... a few things I'm looking for would be: open-minded; spiritual; intelligent. Someone easy to talk to, understanding, patient. Double-jointed. Sense of humor is not necessary. Times are tough; who can afford to laugh or joke around? ;)

I don't really have a 'standard' type of first date. Sometimes meeting for coffee/wine and good conversation, or just dinner. Maybe an activity, like a bike ride, walking the dogs, a ball game, live music
