As many others do, I find it difficult to write about myself, but I persevered, although it may sound like a sales pitch. But then again, in a way, it is.
Although I'm attractive and young-looking for my age, it's what's on the inside that you're likely to find most appealing. First and most important, I am a loyal friend. I am also emotionally supportive and physically attentive – and I've been known to give footrubs that last longer than the average movie. I'm low maintenance and high intelligence (going for parallel structure here), and curious about the how and why of things. What I am not, however, is arrogant or self righteous in my knowledge-seeking. I'm not a fashion hound but will allow you to dress me in your favorite things, if you like (um, that’s things of mine, not yours). I’m such a nice guy that I will laugh at your jokes even if you don't laugh at mine. I love projects, fixing things around the house and yard, and I especially like doing the crossword together in bed on Sunday morning. I'll even get up first to make the coffee. I understand that sometimes I can appear aloof on first meeting, but pay no attention to that. I am tender, understanding, and affectionate, and hold a strong belief that love is its own reward.
But words can only begin to convey a person's essence – the elusive quality of chemistry must be experienced. All we can do is keep living our lives, finding the value in that journey, and taking pleasure along the way. As to what I'm looking for in a woman, that can be summed up in one word: companionship.

Companionship- to define it is difficult. Perhaps some examples would serve to at least lead into the subject.
Driving through the mountains, the windows rolled down, the scent of pines heavy in the air, feeling the air grow lighter as altitude is gained- no words being spoken, just a knowing that the other's senses are also enlivened.
Sitting together along the ocean with the wind whipping the water, huddled together with a blanket wrapped around, feeling one another's pulses rising as the wind does its best to tear it away, sharing the excitement.
Lying entwined after making love, slowly coming back into one's own body after the timelessnes of having been two-in-one if only briefly.
Painting a room. Reading while stretched out on a sofa, feet in one another's hands. Doing a crossword puzzle together. :) Food shoping. Making the bed. Listening to the news and bemoaning the state of the world. Bringing soup when down with a cold.
Cherishing the time spent with one another.

The doing is not as important as the quality of the time shared.
