I AM ME

POF lies :P This site says I'm a Virgo ... but I've been a Libra my whole life! Hahaha. Looks like me being in that whole "cusp" category falls into play on here.

I'm a genuine guy that has a lot to offer in a relationship. If you want particulars, you need to click on the little grey box at the bottom of my profile and ask nicely.

I work in Kinston, NC and have recently relocated to the area from the Triangle. I'm in the middle of getting back on my feet after a rough and expensive separation but by no means am I looking for a hand-out. I'm a man that can take his medicine when he needs to. It's all part of this learning and growing process we call life.

I have 3 children that I have on alternating weekends. I also try to visit them once each week to see them participate in their sporting events.

I am legally separated and have been since early January '09. ONLY A FEW MORE MONTHS TO GO!!!!! I'm not opposed to being married...just to being married to my ex-wife.


It is not unheard of for me to start laughing to myself when I see someone do something that I feel is hilarious. People just really amuse me sometimes. I get odd glances, but at least I get the joke :P


I feel that looks are only important in that they play a part in mutual attraction. I can be friends with just about anybody but I can only be in a relationship w/ someone I'm attracted to. Otherwise, I'd be a dog and as I said above I'm certainly no dog.

Personality goes a long way with me. I'm a firm believer that "If you stand for nothing you'll fall for anything." Honesty and integrity are BIG to me.

I do take care of myself, run, and work out regularly to stay in shape for work and expect something similar in my partner. I don't require the woman I'm with to be a fitness guru, but she should take pride in her appearance. I do like "thick" girls as well as slender ones.

I know who I am, where I'm at in my life, where I want to be, and how I plan on getting there. Call that co**y/arrogant all you want, but I'm the real deal.

I love my children. They're my world. The little time I have with them is precious to me and whomever I'm with needs to be down with that if they're going to be down with me. At this point in my life, I'm not looking to have any more children but do not have any problems with dating a woman that has her own. If you want to start your own family, I'm probably not going to be the guy for you.

I'm looking for someone who is well rounded. She should be comfortable with herself, know who she is, and what she wants out of life. She should be able to take care of herself and take responsibility for her own actions. She should not be looking to change me. I’m not going to try to change her and expect the same in return.

I like to play most sports and enjoy watching several more live.

I am unique in that I doubt you'll find another man like me. I'm "the real JP" :D (inside joke)

I'm a transplant that has been in this beautiful and GREAT State since 2002 and I absolutely LOVE it here. If I miss the leaves changing color in the fall I can go to Asheville, the nightlife in the bigger cities can be a lot of fun, and of course there's the Coast.

I'm one of the few remaining honest and sincere guys that are ALSO good looking. Yes, I am tooting my own horn ... But if I don't, who will? :P

My taste in music is very diverse. I like most genres but really cannot stand commercialized music that you would hear on the radio. I do however love to listen to Kiss FM ... They play great songs that I haven't heard in YEARS.

I'm not looking to jump into anything serious to start off. If I'm with someone, I'm with them. I want to work my way into getting to know my partner while working toward something worthwhile. If you're looking to get married in the next year, I'm probably not the guy for you. I rushed my marriage with my soon to be ex-wife and do not plan on making that mistake again.
My children and I deserve better.

I'm still fairly new to the area and don't really know where too many of the "hot spots", "chill spots", or hangouts where people congregate are. Being that there isn't much of anything to do in Kinston I am not opposed to going to any of the surrounding cities to meet at a Starbucks, Panera Bread, BW3, etc.. I'm not high maintenance and think getting to know eachother should be about compatability, not wether or not I can afford to sweep you off your feet :)
