It seems that as we "mature", it should get easier shouldn't it? After all we have the benefit of past experiences, we are now more confident, self-assured and hopefully, a little wiser. By now we probably have developed our own perception of love and life....so it should be relatively easy to make a good impression on a dating site without having to re-invent yourself...I have discovered I quite like who I am and, hopefully you will see something in me that pleases you as well.





In many respects, I am a very strong woman, but once you know me you will see that I possess a much softer side as well. Although I do not attend church, I am still very spiritual...My family is very important to me and I still have two daughters at home(one, is a foster child) who still require a lot of TLC. I am also with the "Foster Parent Plan" and have been a fostering a boy in Guatemala for nearly 5 years.... he is 10 years old now...
I treasure my friendships....and once you know me, you will discover that I am a loyal friend and confidant. I have maintained some of the same friends since childhood. Sarah Ban Breathnach writes, "Children grow up, parents die and sibings leave but friends are continuous. As someone once said, you can easily judge a person by the company they keep...

I am also a very passionate person and I will fight for what I believe in. I dislike bullies and arrogance and I will always pull for the underdog...yes, even in the NHL haha.... *note: But, of course my loyality lies the Flames over any other team in the league*

... I prefer warm breezes and sunshine over those long cold winter nights ...yet I continue to live in Canada, good thing I'm adaptable eh? Yes, I may complain about the cold and the snow but yet there is nothing more beautiful or magical than to wake up to a white wonderland....stuff that fairytales are made of.

Although I do love the look of winter, new boots and hectic Christmas mornings...autumn is my favourite time of the year....all those colours,the smell, the dancing leaves on a windy day....just makes a body want to dive into those piles of leaves just like we used to.....I love Canada, I love Alberta and I love the city I live in. I can't imagine living anywhere else. I am surrounded by beauty....The Creator did good.

My taste in music is a bit eclectic...I'm all over the place from Celtic to blues to good ole rock n roll. I love Cold Play( Chris Martin, incredible vocals), David Wilcox, Bob Seger, Kings of Leon and my Canadian cronner, Michael Buble...

Food.....yup, like it a lot, specially a grilled steak with sauteed mushrooms, um um. I prefer salty to sweet(not much of a chocolate person), popcorn with lots of butter, and if I really, really like you...I might even share.

I'm not much of a drinker ( yeah, you should have seen me at the campsite this summer)ok every once in a while haha... But being a very social person I do like to go out and enjoy an occasional caesar or a nice cold beer on a hot day.

I am a tactile person, so much so that I tend to wear lots of skirts and dresses, I love the feel of cool silk against my skin. But being from Alberta, I do appreciate slipping into warm flannel jammies on a cool winter's night. Those of you from the southern states cannot relate to this haha.

I love the smell of freshly washed hair, certain colognes (CK Or Drakkar) or aftershave....makes me hunger for those long, deep passionate kisses that carry on and on....Yes...I miss that. *sigh*

So why am I here, what am I looking for? In the words of the great Sigmund Freud, What does a woman want?....."That is a good question" says he,...one to which I have not been able to answer"....Well maybe I can help.

We all want the perfect relationship as do I and we have our ideas as to how it should look , but in the "real" world there is no such thing. We are all looking for the same thing, someone we can trust, someone to share the good and the not so good. Someone to love and someone who will love us back.

I've thought about all the positives in a relationship, and there are many but for what I miss the most is the sharing....the body contact. I want that again, that's what I hunger for. I want to wake up and see him lying there next to me, I want to watch him breathe, kiss the corner of his mouth... I want to listen to the sound of his heart beating, drink in the smell of him and feel his warm embrace. I want to feel his lips on mine and on my body, not in a sexual way, but yet intimately... I want to snuggle in to him, tell him how much I adore him... and to close my eyes and know he feels the same way.
I want to feel his warm breath in my ear... whispering "I love you...now go back to sleep baby."
