I am an active person with many varied interests. Some of the things that occupy my week are daily visits to the Y, hiking with the local club, billiards, belly dancing, quilting club, walks, visits with friends and family. I enjoy the outdoors but also appreciate theatre, movies and reading. I am outgoing and friendly. I enjoy people who are affectionate, honest, sincere and forthright. I participate in aerobics and aquatics six days a week and so I appreciate a man who is fit and takes care of his health. I am sensitive and caring. I need a person who can communicate their ideas and feelings. Although I would probably be characterized as being athletic, I am also a thinker who enjoys books and magazines. My reading interests are wide, anything from novels (the one I'm reading now is Philip Roth "The Human Stain" to science (The Third Chimpanzee by Jared Diamond). I love a good discussion. Though I have many female friends I also play billiards, three times a week, with a group of retired men. I spend six weeks in Florida in the winter where I play three days a week with a group of women. I enjoy the company of all these people. I am as the saying goes, "a people person". I very much enjoy animals and although I live in a small city now, I have mostly lived in the country. I have had dogs, cats and horses. I enjoy any music that I consider good, including pop, rock,opera, etc but don't care for country and western.

I would like a first date to be fairly short and in a public place. If there is interest then a longer date that might involve a movie or dinner would be nice. Another first date I would like would be to walk in the park. I think you get to know a person by walking and talking.
