About Me
I am a fiscally, socially, and morally responsible man. I have raised my children to understand that doing the right thing is always ultimately the best thing. My sense of morals comes from logical analysis more than any spiritual teaching. Being responsible doesn't mean I don't know how to have fun. Just that it doesn't include spending more than I can afford, drinking more than I should, or anything outside of my own morality.
I would like to see my three young-adult sons one day as grown up, honest, hard-working, productive men with families of their own. I can't wait to feel that pride in them as true adults making a real contribution to our society.
I design software systems that provide solutions to complex problems for large corporations. My work does not define who I am, but it does show that I am an analytical, big picture, thinker. I have worked exclusively from my office in my home for the last 15 years. Telecommuting has allowed me to be present for my children.
I have always been a little different. Intelligent but not pretentious, really just trying to learn as much as possible about the human condition and the universe that we share. I enjoy mental challenges as well as physical ones. I love to explore the possibilities around us in this wonderful world, laughing all of the way.
I play the guitar, the bass, and I am starting work learning the drums. I enjoy playing what is now known as classic rock. I played in various types of bands in the Philadelphia, PA and Troy, NY areas in the late 70's and 80's, but put that aside when my first son was born in 1988. My taste in music is widely varied, and depends largely on my mood. What I enjoy most about any music is the musicianship and creativity in the performance.
I am a sports fan but ... I am not a fan of New England's professional sports teams. I will go to a game if there is an extra ticket, and I will certainly enjoy it, but I won't be wearing a team jersey or cap ... lol. It would be nice if you could forgive me for having grown up in the Philadelphia area and still having my affection for their teams after 15 years in New England.
I like racing, but I prefer Formula1 or MotoGP to NASCAR or Motocross. I was a NASCAR fan way back when ... for some reason I was always pulling for Buddy Baker to quietly sneak in for the win. A friend turned me on to Formula1 a few years ago and I was hooked on the technical challenges and the amount of driver skill involved.
I'll watch TV, but I prefer movie channels for their lack of commercials. I also enjoy shows where I can learn something ... "Good Eats" with Alton Brown, a variety of topics on the History channel (except UFOs), and Discovery Science are my favorite stops.
I like to dance, if we're talking slow-dance ... you know like junior high, wrapped in each others arms and swaying to "Stairway to Heaven". I feel no need express myself through dance, I do just fine with my eyes and face ... lol.
I like day trips to new places, art galleries, museums and the like. There's something to be said for learning something while having fun. I am not a fan of second degree burns from a day on the beach, but I enjoy the ocean very much at night or from the balcony of a 8th floor condo in Myrtle Beach.
About You
I hope to find you to be self-confident, intelligent, witty, hard-working, and loving. Having a career is nice, but loving your work is more important. If you are one of the lucky few that has both, all the better.
I would like to find someone who is financially, mentally and emotionally stable. Like just about every profile you read, drama-free is very attractive. Nothing kills relationships like unnecessary drama.
You should be equally happy spending the day walking through Rockport as you are spending the day at home and watching the ball game. Travelling is nice, but so is nesting.
To sum it up in one word ... Balance.
Notes
I tend to view profiles through the CHEMISTRY link at the top of this page. If I viewed your profile and didn't send a message, it's likely that your mail restrictions kept me from doing so or there is some distance between us.
I also spend some time reading the FORUMS, and perhaps even posting if I feel that I have something to share. In some cases, it is helpful to view one or more of the poster's profiles as part of this process.
Lately, I have been spending time RATING the pics uploaded to the site. This too may lead me to your profile. Through this process I am now probably viewing hundreds of profiles from all over the world on a daily basis.
If you took the time to read this far, please drop me a line. Even if you didn't get butterflies in your stomach or your heart wasn't racing it would be a pleasure to hear from you, to know how you got here, and get to know you. Take a chance, try something new and different.
First Date
A first meeting should be in a comfortable, quiet, relaxed, and very public setting.
A first date should be adventurous and romantic in order to create a memory that will truly last a lifetime.
Not just another John has 2 roses that can be sent.
