About Me
Really hoping to find someone with get-up-and-go who hasn't already got-up-and-gone. I've been fortunate with my health and have always enjoyed running my own small business and, mostly, raising my own large family. Now, with responsibilities down to a minimum, I'm planning some play time.
I enjoy a comfortable lifestyle and, having lived on my own for many years, am very content with my own company ( and, of course, the dogs) The companion I envisage would also, I hope, have his own interests and hobbies, not all of which need to be the same as mine. I should like to find a compatible partner who would ultimately be friend, lover and confidante, but who also retains some independence.
Although I've lived in Canada since 1973, I seem to have reverted to more of my British roots as time goes by, and although I enjoy visits to England and Europe, as well as other places, I am really hoping to see much more of Canada in the near future. My travelling history to date has been unstructured, and although I realize that this may not always be possible, I shall resist organized tours for as long as possible. I am, after all, an eternal optimist.
My wish list for a life partner includes a minimum height of 5'10" which allows me to wear heels when I DO dress up ( and not gaze out over a partners pate )a quick wit but a slow approach to familiarity, a dry and probably irreverent sense of humour and an enjoyment of some of life's simple pleasures. All or any of these attributes would certainly catch my attention.
Having renovated and landscaped (with varying degrees of assistance) many houses, I feel that this should be counted as a hobby. As a consummate entrepreneur, my interests have usually been incorporated in making a living, but I'm open to any new suggestions.
There's things to do, places to go and living, loving and laughing to take place, and time, as they say, waits for no man. I'm kind of hoping that I don't have to either.
First Date
Seems to me that contact via POF, then e-mailing for a while, then a phone call or two should manage to produce some sort of get-together that appeals to us both, and any future arrangements would just become the icing on the cake. (still optimistic you note)
