Hello, and welcome to my page.

As you can see from my photos I enjoy travel, whether, it be to an exotic location in South America or a local trip. I also enjoy adventure and I've recently returned from Colombia, where I took a paragliding course, which, was awesome. I've also sailed to Hawaii and the Caribbean, traveled throughout Europe, and lived in Germany, US, Mexico and Central America.

Continous learning is important to me, and I have a wide and varied assortment of interests. I'm currently interested in Paragliding and I recently took part of a pilot's course for Ultralights in Calgary.

I generally enjoy talking to most people and learning about themselves, and some say I am a good listener.

I can be spontaneous, like getting in the car and going on a road trip the same day, or I can be laid back and go for a walk in a park or a mall.

My hobbies include skiing or snowboarding, surfing, biking, Scuba diving (I'm an instructor), hiking, camping, stock trading, working out, and all kinds of sports (although I'm not big into being a spectator).

I enjoy most types of music.

I'm interested in finding someone with whom I can hang out with, talk, do activities etc. Initially, I would like to start out as friends and then see how it goes from there. However, I would eventually like to find someone with whom I got along with and had some chemistry with a long-term stable relationship in mind. I don't think we would necesarily need to share the same interests as it is also interesting to learn or teach new ones.

Lastly, I've recently been pondering my Username, and if it has had a negative impact (as I haven't been getting much interest since I started this); so if anyone is wondering why I have such a strange Username, I picked Shakin Bake because I was having trouble coming up with something unique, and I had recently watched Taladega Nights, and if anyone has seen the movie knows that it was a funny saying that the main character uses repeatedly; this ultimately influenced my decision because I basically thought it was funny and would get a few chuckles... and that's the rest of the story.

It's difficult to gauge someone's personality and compatibility from glancing at their profile, and I find it is much better to meet people in person. I find an initial platonic date with no expectations is more comfortable. I'm open to a lot of things, however, I would probably start off with something basic and easy like going for a coffee, a walk, a drink, etc...
