I feel like an endangered species... The nice guy; the fallback or best friend to the girl who is tired of dealing with the bad boys. I'm the kind of guy who holds the door open for other people, the kind of guy who will give a girl my seat on the bus if there's only standing room, the kind of guy who looks back at the times he's been in love as the happiest in his life.

I am a recently graduated art student from Grand Valley State University. My immediate goal is to find work as a freelance illustrator / designer to support myself as I build towards my ultimate career goal, do conceptual design for the movie or video game industries.

I've always been a hopeless romantic, a good relationship acts as a conduit for my creative and compassionate energies, and shrinks the world and all my other problems down to a size I can more easily manage. I'm one of those rare guys that isn't afraid of his emotions. I am honest and trustworthy, funny and sincere, laid back, but professional, people feel safe around me, I am a keeper of secrets.

My interests include travel, philosophy, movies and art of course. I'm a big movie buff; my favorite genres are comedy, science-fiction, and horror.
I'm big into art and art theory; some of my favorite artists are: H.R. Giger, William Blake, Ashley Wood, and Dali.
I have an extremely broad taste in music, ranging from classical, to jazz, to heavy metal, and electronica, and most everything in between. I'm not a big fan of country music and rap though.
I have a broad sense of humor as well. I enjoy making people laugh being an entertainer. I love stand-up comedy.

In my experience, the first date is never a real "date". It's always just another one of those evenings you've gone out as "just-friends" and then it begins to turn into something more. It could be a late night trip to a local 24-hour coffee shop, or joining someone for a dinner out, or it may be just as simple as visiting their apartment and watching a good movie.
The situation is not so important as that hopeful anxiety, and that simple honest pleasure you get from being someone who "gets" you, and that tantilizing chance that there may be something special growing, just for the two of you.
